The Right to Die? Is That Amendment 28?

I have piped in about this once or twice here and on other blogs, but Rachel says it all for me......HERE.

It would be different if we were not talking about the legal system in Florida (ie Election 2000). it is most definitely not a Christian thing in my book, I think that if they are going to KILL Terri, they ought to at least have the guts to stick a gun in her mouth and pull the trigger. Watch the video of her and tell me that she is in a persistant vegetative state. I don't think so.

And just to go on record, if I somehow wind up like Terri, if anyone tries to pull my feeding tube, they are trying to kill me. Oh, and better men have tried, trust me.

I think that the politicians are just as scared about the slide into euthanasia (sp?) as I am. We are already becoming a culture of death, do we need to actually kill a living, breathing, cognitive person?

Oh, I think that anyone that doesn't receive justice in State court should have the ability to appeal to higher courts.

Point in case, if something finally winds its way into the Ninth Circuit court, you can rest assured that the way that they decide a case is incorrect.

I do respect States rights, more so than Federal, I just think that there is something really fishy about this whole Terri scenario. Doesn't it bother you that the malpractice money is running out and the attorney for the bastard is on the board at the hospice?

Two Dogs , you are a hypocrite! In past posts you have said that state law should be upheld and the federal govt. should stay out of it . You also accused the Dems. of using the courts to impose their beliefs on others! Now, tell me that this is not a case of the Republicans using the Courts to impose their beliefs on the rest of us. If you do not agree, then it is clear that you just say whatever you want whenever you want in order to support your argument! I can't debate with someone like that. This is about religion and rallying the right to lifers! This is a shame!!Don't believe those little clips that they are showing you!

Oh, I have written something about this at Trinity Church, so please do stop in!

soundboyz, I stii believe in the State Rights issue. I have not turned away from that. What I am advocating is that we not kill humans that have not committed crimes except for being an inconvience for the former spouse. I am sure there are others cases similar to this that I would not think the same things, but there is simply too much wrong with this one to lean any other way.

Here's a good article...

Hey Two Dogs, Why are you deleting my posts. This is censorship!!!What I said was, Someone please tell that Crazy B#*ch that she CAN put her dog to sleep. Millions of people do it!

Paul Mitchell said...

Huh? I haven't deleted any of your posts.

Oh, and Rachel's dog is fine. I think that she is saying that if she tried to actually starve Sunny to death, there would be a riot by the animal rights folks. Maybe.

Two Dogs...wait a minute here... She is not "cognitive". Not even remotely. A large portion of her cerebral cortex, the area that controls abstract thought, is now liquid. It is cerebro-spinal fluid. It is not reversible. This is what numerous doctors have found.

You saw a video of her and could tell what was wrong and that she could think? What level of education do you have? Are you a doctor? I believe what the doctors are saying. You on the other hand, are utterly guessing, based on what you would like to be true. I admire your passion, but passion doesn't always make for truth. I'll throw my lot in with the doctors.

Wayne World said...

^ THANK YOU Eric!!!! It's about time rational thinking individuals start to counter these "Know it alls". They have ten answers for everything and all of them are incorrect!!!Give them hell!!

Wayne World said...

What I found despicable was the interview with one of Terri's brothers where he claims that the husband doesn't want her to recover because he(the husband ) is afraid that she will tell people that he is responsible for putting her in the coma by beating her!!!How outrageous!!It just goes to show what type of people are involved. Their REAL character comes out when they don't get their way!!

Paul Mitchell said...

I am not trying to make any kind of medical statement. I am saying that Michael Shiavo doesn't want her to live and her parents do. Why will he not just divorce her and let her parents take care of her? This makes no sense at all.

Also, about my education, uh, I did finish third grade. We are required to do at least that in the Great State of Mississippi.

Oh, and Michael has not ever allowed Terri to have any kind of therapy or rehabilitation. The one nurse who attempted to get Terri to grip on a towel was refused to have any more contact with Terri.

Please folks, THINK about what is happening here. You are going to find out exactly what the problem is at some point, so try to have some type of compassion and remember that to admit that you were wrong is a good thing.

Paul Mitchell said...

And there is a good amount of evidence of physical abuse. Dr. Michael Badin has gone on record saying that Terri's situation now is most likely from strangulation. Who do you think would try to strangle her?

Paul Mitchell said...

And finally, I would throw my lot in with the doctors also, if only they had used standard procedures for problems such as this. Such as an MRI.

Wayne World said...

You are just talking out of your lower orafice!!!What evidence do YOU have to support any of this?

Paul Mitchell said...

On which point?

Wayne World said...

any of this ?

Paul Mitchell said...

1. Michael is wanting her to die, her parents aren't. Every single story about this states that point.

2. The abuse? Eveidence of cracked ribs, jaw damage, broken teeth, all of this has been repeatedly reported ad infinum.

3. Badin released a statement probably three years ago about this. Google Dr. Badin Terri Schiavo.

4. They never did the MRI and another test (I don't remember what it is) that all of the family's doctors say should have been standard procedure. Numerous news stories.

Need more?

Paul Mitchell said...

This search took me all of 8 seconds......

http://www.bpnews.net/bpnews.asp?Id=20400

I'm done. Have at it. I refuse to argue this anymore. It is a senseless thing when all her parents want is to take care of her and all Michael wants is for her to die. Bastard.

This reminds me of something someone once told me. You could find anything to back up any thesis you might come up with!Baptist Press? WTF is that about. Of course they will say that stuff! I have seen this story covered on ALL the major news networks and I have yet to hear that she can eat and drink on her own! This is BS. Send me something from FOX or CNN or anywhere that has credibility and don't have a hidden agenda!!

Wayne World said...

OK.....Maybe NOT FOX!!!!! We all know they have a HIDDEN agenda!!!

Paul Mitchell said...

I wonder what FOX's agenda is? Could it be that they are not actively trying to overthrow the elected President of this country? Bastards.

Wayne World said...

That Fox interview is NOT credible. Looks like the Republicans are up to their old tricks. When they don't get their way, they attack the credibility of anyone that opposes them! That former nurse had grounds for a lawsuit as well as a criminal investigation. Why was this not the case? She would have been protected under the whistleblower act. She is full of it! This reminds me of the Swiftboat Veterans, when they need to smear someone's reputation, just find someone with an axe to grind and use them to spread lies!!How about finding someone, anyone, that knows anything about who leaked the name of the CIA agent!!!!That's a big deal!!It's a crime....NO really!

Paul Mitchell said...

Little Kim was found guilty of the exact offense that Clinton was impeached over. Wonder why she didn't get off with no punishment?

Thanks so much for the naked Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush comment. I spewed coffee all over my monitor.

Oh, and I was not aware that Bush has been accused of a crime. Do you read the New York Times? If Bush so much as picked his nose in public, it would be reported above the fold, front page everyday.

Illegal war? Why in the world would Congress approve an illegal war?

Wayne World said...

>Illegal war? Why in the world would Congress approve an illegal war?

Because they were scared and punked into agreeing to authorize the use of force only as leverage to get Saddam Hussein to comply with UN resolution 1444.Bush took advantage of this and declared war!Congress did not declare war, they only authorized the use of force , and that was only to threaten Saddam.Bush used the fact that congress did declare war in Afghanistan and tried to make the case that both wars were part of the War on Terror! This is BS!

Paul Mitchell said...

I guess maybe some of the Democrats in Congress say that, but they clearly didn't feel that way when they voted. You notice I said FEEL, cause you know damn well they ain't thinking up there.

Oh, what about the ten years and numerous other Resolutionis that Sadaam continuously violated.

If you know anything about anything in this circumstance, you will KNOW that Sadaam and OBL were meeting and sending money back and forth for the last seven years. Remember the 9-11 commission? Damn, they only said that about 1 million times and you still don't believe Sadaam and OBL weren't boys? No convincing you then.

Paul Mitchell said...

The commission most definitely said that OBL and Sadaam were linked extensively. Obviously you have not seen nor heard anything about the report. They did say that they could find no link with Sadaam and the Tower attack. They cited hundreds and hundreds of links between the two bad guys, though.

And the US has signed one resolution involving Israel. Maybe the Sudan, Saudi Arabia and their ilk has signed resolutions against Israel, but none are credible, they are TERRORIST countries, damn.

Come on, soundboyz, where in the Hell do you get your news, Dan Rather?

Wayne World said...

I'm talking UN resolutions , not US resolutions! The UN is more than just the US!

Paul Mitchell said...

Oh, and you HAVE said that. And if the "mainstream" Muslim community would come out and simply say that they are completely opposed to terrorism, it would go a long way to putting an end to the violence.

That's something that Nobel Peace Prize recipient Yassir Arafat never did.

Wayne World said...

The mainstream muslims did come out and condemn terrorism! That's what true Islam is about.I certainly did NOT mean ALL Christians, I do not know ALL Christans to make that statement. The Palestinians have tried non voilent means for the last 30+ years up until the recent wave of suicide bomings. These bombings started about 7 years ago, after decades of non voilence and waiting for Israel to honor those UN resolution which calls for them to end their illegal occupation of Palestinian territories. You only want to pick up an argument where it suits you!! Shame on you!!!

Paul Mitchell said...

What the Hell is that on me? Dammit, it's shame.

I'm so sorry, I just don't remember too well the non-violent way that the Palestinians killed all the Israeli athletes at the 1976 Olympics. Yep, that Nobel Peace Prize winning statesman Afarat and his group Black September were surely some peace loving folks......

Wayne World said...

That was one incident, and even that was after years of trying to negotiate with Israel. You want to cite one incident where the Palestinians did something in response to Israel's illegal activities. You need to be occupied and degraded , and we'll see how long you try that non violent shit.

Paul Mitchell said...

Did it ever occur to you why they are where they are anyway? Could it be because there is no other place in the Middle East that will let them settle. If memory serves, Arafat got kicked out of Syria for terrorism and that's why the Palestinians are where they are......

Wayne World said...

Wrong!!!!!! The Palestinians have always been right there in Palestine.Since Biblical times. It is only because they did not declare it a state why the UN used this area to settle the Jews after WW2.The UN did this because noone else wanted the "JEWS" to settle in their country, so they pushed them off on the Palestinians and they have been paying for it ever since.

Paul Mitchell said...

The Palestinians have been living in refugee camps since Biblical Times? Damn, they aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer, are they? They need to move to Florida and be starved to death if they are brain-damaged.

Paul Mitchell said...

As I said above, the Romans conquered the region, and to the victor go the spoils. Ever heard of slavery? Something about it in the Bible too. And yes, if you believe anything written in history, from textbooks, the Bible, the Torah, and that Muslim one, you have to know that the Jews were there first.

Paul Mitchell said...

Sorry, I forgot my manners,

Dear Mr. Crazy Person,

Quit being a Jew hater.

Wayne World said...

>Kinda like hating on Christians. What's that called? Heathen?

I wouldn't know. But I do know that hating on Islam is commonly known as the fellowship between Christians and Jews!
