Some Blog History

I have now been publishing this piece of shit blog for around thirty-two years (since January 2005 actually) and have finally come to the point where I am going to shed my online persona entirely. My involvement with social media is making it more difficult to remember who I am supposed to be on a particular site. When it was just this blog, it was very easy to keep track of the levels of privacy to exhibit. Now, the line is more blurred. Utter simplicity is desirable for me at all levels.

All shall be blended together. I am NOT ashamed of s single one of my opinions and honestly know that my ideology and philosophy is RIGHT, JUST, and CORRECT. There exist no doubts at all in my mind.

When I first started writing this blog, it was to exorcise the demons that I drug along through life because of the loss of my wife, my best friend, my future. I knew when she died in April of 2004 that I was too young to simply stop living myself. Yes, it was very difficult, but it was not an event that was insurmountable. Loss is inevitable for someone in every relationship. Some crumble, but some experience the freedom to move forward and further enjoy the life that remains. I am one of the lucky ones.

But, holy shit, did I drink to excess.

The past four years of blogging has helped me develop further the ideology that is my driving force and the direction and inspiration of everything that I am.

Y'all know that my son is soon to be a Navy man. He too shall move on and leave old dad behind as he builds his life and I would assume starts a family of his own. Yes, that too is bittersweet.

What y'all probably don't know is that Bean and I are no longer together. We split up last year in August and tried to keep being friends, lovers, confidants, and partners. It was simply impossible. Since we met way back in September of 2005, we have had our share of problems, but it is totally my fault. I am difficult to say the least. When you throw two fiercely independent folks in the same box, the passion is unimaginable, but the volatility is much too harsh, too. I love those that have the misfortune to get close to me with the intensity of one thousand suns and it breaks them. Literally, figuratively, however you want to describe it.

Bean was the last thing keeping me as a pseudo-anonymous blogger. Of course, my real life friends that comment here shall be as anonymous as before. Just because I am going to brave the Muslim death threats does NOT mean that they have to as well.

Anyhoo, the whole purpose of this post is that I am going to shrug off the Two Dogs moniker and go whole hog into this blogging thing with my real name. I am still working out the particulars with Bean's military thingy and might have to ditch the posts of her entirely, depending on how the logistics work out and her wishes. If you are my friend on any of the social networks that I frequent, bear with me and do not out me yet, please.

I assume that with this major change about to happen that the content of this blog shall change somewhat as well. How much remains to be seen, I am kinda direct with my opinions, but together, we shall certainly work it out.

Thanks for reading and commenting y'all. It is all about the conversation for me. And wear a cup.

Please take the time to comment.

I think this is awesome. But you already knew I'd say that, didn't ya? Don't worry, you know that I'll be around here somewhere...cup not required, but maybe one of those Madonna pointy bras for protection.

Seriously, this post is an amazing insight into what is making you tick at the moment, and that is well-deserving of all my respect. Opening up to the general public isn't an easy thing, but you did it anyway. Might have something to do with all that strength that you obviously have.

I can't wait to see what's next... :)

Woot!

Bold move, but also helps in the "legitimacy" department. It's sad that so many feel like they have to "hide" from nutjobs and wackos.

I once wrote a post critical of the Palestianians and got my email address subscribed to all sorts of hateful, anti-israel pro-intifada discussion boards. My the admin of the sites. I had to delete the email entirely.

Sad, but I do herald and tip a hat to you, suh.

I sometimes wonder how much I can say since I'm no longer in the military, but am still in government service. Fine line.

2D, It is very hard to have a relationship with someone close by and having Bean far away just made it more than I could understand. I too wish her well as she goes forward and you know I'll be here to find out who the heck you think you really are. In the main part, I think you are a lot like me only I have a moderating influence here daily to keep me from saying what I really feel. What I read is a lot what I would think my blog would look like if I lost my wife and started drinking again. I hope you can find some peace in your life and like who you turn out to be. Peace Bro MUD

Wow... I'll definitely still be here. My Mama's heart is beating double time though. Maybe christinajade and I can go shopping together, lol!

Lots of revelation in the build-up, dude. Sorry to hear about you and Bean, as I regret to hear about your previous loss -- I know how a loss in the family can throw one for a helluva loop from personal experience -- but isn't that the way of things sometimes?

At any rate, death threats are a dime a dozen, and so are the anonymous chicken sh**s that utter 'em.

Even on the rare occasion where you and I might disagree, you've nothing to apologize for, and that's the last thing I'd expect from you. You're being you. Nothing else should matter. Especially opinions from historically miseducated 18 year olds ;)

Rock and roll, soon-to-be-non-mystery blogger.

Hell, I might even shed my icon, at least once before I vaporlock ;)

If you turn out to be Barney Frank and you've been messing with us for four years, I am going to kill myself.

Ahhh. I suspected that you and Bean split. I am sorry to hear that. Was looking forward to tailgating at yer wedding! ;) But seriously Barney . . . I think you should stay undercover. If Nancy finds out what you've been saying here, she'll stop inviting you over to buff her toenails. (Sorry @The Mayor . . . sorry you had to find out this way!) Mwahahahahahaha!

Thanks for the encouragement, y'all. I am certainly afraid that now that the Mayor has outed me, despite my pleas, y'all are going to be really disappointed.

Coffee - I'd love to, so long as you wanna join me scouring the junior's department for bargains for the kiddo! (Mommy doesn't get to shop much anymore) Any good clearance sales going on your way? :)

TD, all this talk about you being Barney Frank could go viral. Should I alert the media? heh...

I'm very sorry to hear that you lost your wife so young.

As for publishing under your real name: it has it's pluses and minuses. It lends more credibility but mischief-makers can cause trouble such as when they start posting one's business address and phone number as happened to me two days ago in my comments.

Lemme just quell the rumors quickly. I am not now, nor have I ever been, Barney Frank. But, that would be funny.

Patrick, that address thingy is not that concerning to me right NOW, but maybe it will be in the future. I'll get through it then, or not.

Bayouchild, I get the death threats every time that I post on the Religion of Peace. they are so sweet, huh?

It'll take more than a name change to get me to stop reading and posting. I look forward to meeting the real you, although I suspect I know a great deal about you already through perusing this blog!

For the record, F*CK Barney Frank.
