College Gameday - Week 10 Wrap-Up

Well, the NUMBER ONE, The Barn, continues their winning ways. We expected that, too. Even though I only worked a split out of The Barn's game yesterday, I still would have made money on my picks. I am not positive, but I think that is almost the first time that I would have achieved that level of WIN! since I have been publishing this blork.

Remember, last week, the PAC-10 Oregon Ugly Uniforms replaced The Barn atop the BCS poll. This is not that scary to me, because The Barn would still play the Ugly Uniforms in the Silly Bowl should both teams win out. Unless, pollsters have something to say about it.

Let's go to the Cray 260000 footbaw predictor and logic regulator to show how stupid pollsters are.

To size Oregon and The Barn up head-to-head for ranking purposes, we must use FACTS, MATHEMATICS, and LOGIC. Pollsters, that obviously only went to tOSU and uSCCC, seem to think that those tools are unnecessary.

Here are the facts.

Oregon beat #9 Stanford and #24 uSCCC. Stanford beat #15 Arizona. uSCCC has beaten ZERO ranked teams. That is the extent of the argument for Oregon to be number one. Admit it, that is some flimsy shit.

However, The Barn beat #12 'Cocks, #20 We Suck, #12 Razorhawgs, and #6 Geaux Tigers. 'Cocks beat #22 UGA, and the NUMBER ONE team at the time, Bammeroids. Just ONE win from The Barn outranks everything that Oregon has produced for the whole season. I think the NUMBER ONE team is pretty clear between the two. Well, unless you are an idiot.

Not only that, but The Barn is undefeated in the Top Ranked Conference, The SEC. Plus, they have TEN WINS v. Oregon's nine. Folks, there is not a single metric, that is measured, that gives any legitimate reason that Oregon would EVER be ranked over The Barn.

Granted, pollsters, that only went to tOSU and uSCCC, do not even regard the SEC as the top rated conference, which it is. Notice the ranking points separating the SEC and the PAC-10. Also, notice the points separating the PAC-10 and the next two conferences. Again, there is LITERALLY no comparison between the two teams or the two conferences.

Again, there is no reason AT ALL that Oregon could ever be ranked above The Barn. The funny part is that everyone knows it, too.

Please take the time to comment.

I need someone to explain to me how a team can score 65 points, and then lose the game. I know it's not south pac or whatever, but still, "how amusing".

You think that is shocking, Marc, check this box score, Colorado allowed 35 points in the fourth quarter to LOSE.

I'm with Marc on that one. I watched some of the end of that game, and it was truly a nightmare. Of course, it was The little 10/11/soon to be litttle 12/whatever...but Jeez Louise!

Certainly there is no way that Oregon should be ranked above Auburn...or even LSU...or 'Bama. But it is what it is.

However, I'm gonna say this again...speed is speed. And Auburn's defense is not that good. They have not faced the speed that Oregon has yet. They had better get started doing some wind sprints, or they might give up 40 points to Oregon, too. Of course, they will probably score 82...but it'll still look bad for us.

Andy, in a just polling system, Oregon MIGHT be in the Top 25. Auburn is going to roll them like mad.

Andy said...

Okay...if you say so. I'm just telling you...Auburn's D is slow, and SLOW is bad.

The only thing that I keep coming back to is that Oregon might look fast against the competition they are playing and The Barn might look slow against the competition they're playing, but it is certainly two different games.

Okay TD, I'm gonna remember this.

It would be better if nobody remembered anything I write.

Only thing that matters here, is that a team is up 45-17 in the 4th Quarter, to a team that was the bottom of the Big 12...and manages to find a way to lose the game.

How did CU do this? With a coach who, in five years, has won TWO road games. Yep. Two, in five seasons. With a game plan that had CU -- up 28 points in the 4th Quarter -- not running the ball and killing the clock, but trying all sorts of gimmick reverses, flea flickers and passing. Which they managed to fumble and get picked off. Add to it a blown on-side kick coverage, and phfffft. Colorado is THE suckiest school in the nation this week, and as fit a 'fit' for the PAC 10 as there is.

Colorado led 45-17 in the fourth ... and lost?!??

Any team that lost to Colorado this year must really suck!

Oh, wait. Dammit!!

Andy said...

OUCH! Basil, Hawaii must REALLY suck.

paul mitchell said...

Basil, that one musta gotta fah shure hurted.

Andy said...

Basil should not feel so bad about things. Really, he shouldn't.

I mean, Georgia was a fine program until the whiny-baby Richt threw his green peas on the floor, stomped his foot, and acted like the pussy that he is.

What needs to happen for that program to turn around is to get a corch that eats grass...and likes it.

paul mitchell said...

Richt is the winningest corch that UGA has ever had at this point in his career.

Andy said...

Richt is a pussy.

Cam Newton is a damn cheater...so much for the Heisman..

Cam cheated at UF, Reggie Bush uh...did he cheat academically?? Hand in a paper that wasn't his? See what happens when you think you can run from your past, it catches up...it catches up.

good ole $ec, the penalty points should knock the SEC off the top of that "ranking"...

Roderick, I am a rational man. College footbaw players are mostly idiots. There might be two percent of them that could actually get into a legitimate college based on their academics. I am not begrudging a single kid that might make it out of the ghetto to become Charles Barkley or Donovan McNabb or Ben Roethlisberger. But, I certainly do not want them performing brain surgery on me.

Are there still people that think football players can do anything else once they get to D-I level? Damn, I hope not.

I also defended Barry Bonds for 'roiding up, too.

So Cam grew up in a ghetto where his home was broken and never got taught values....
sure...

Let's see he comes from a two parent household and his father (not step father, not foster father) is a man of the cloth. All of the other athletes, he is one of the few that knows better.

He has no excuses, which is why I am disappointed. He fed lies about leaving Florida, saying Tebow was coming back so he left...he left to escape the embarrassment he deserves.

If he wins the Heisman, that award will be tarnished because going in we know this guy is no good...not after the fact. He has no excuses, he was not deprived in anyway growing up, and being poor is not deprivation. He had a mother and father, food, and a roof over his head.

I do not dispute anything you said at all.

However, he is a football player, that is ALL I expect of him, just as I do not look to Eric Clapton for anything other than guitar prowess.

Roderick, when you get to be my age, you'll look back and say, "You know, I watched this degradation of character and morality in MY lifetime." Or I think that you will. I find myself doing that more and more lately, too.
