There are very few things that could strike utter fear in my soul, but Congress getting involved in college footbaw is one such thing. Orrin Hatch (Fucktarded Idiot-Utah) has introduced stupidity to try to get teams that suck into the BCS. Make no mistake, Hatch (a Republican) is making these moves because he wants THE FUCKING UTES in the championship game. This is actually patently WORSE than uSCCC being in the championship game. We are talking about THE FUCKING UTES, y'all.
Ring your Congressman/woman's phone off the friggin' hook. I mean it. If not, we are going to wind up watching Rutgers v. Harvard in the BCS "Championship Game" as the final college footbaw game of the freakin' year. Good Lord, hepp us all.

Draft Day for Timbow
While enjoying a breakfast sandwich and a coupla' lattes today, I got to enjoy the humor of reading USA Today Business and Sports sections. The business section was hilarious because they are in competition with Chris Matthews to be Barry Obama's fluffers, but the sports section offered new insights into craziness.

It seems that the NFL scouts actually have a chart for intangibles and they offer it in an Excel™ spreadsheet. I downloaded the spreadsheet and plugged in Rolle's numbers.
What do you know? They are not actually off of the charts. Mike Fucking Mayock LIED.
Here are Rolle's numbers:
Gumption (out of a possible 100): 14.1! He is almost totally devoid of gumption.
Stick-to-it-ness (out of a possible 135) 84! Slightly above the average.
Iciness (out of a possible 7): 48! Even though Rolle's iciness score IS actually off the charts (by almost seven times!), there is an additional plug-in for the Excel™ spreadsheet that lets you measure intangibles that are actually OFF THE CHARTS!!!

Yet, this information is actually true and when the folks that I deal with on a daily basis are more susceptible to strokes than most***, y'all need to keep these things in mind.

Why is it called the State of the Union Address?
No, I did not watch it because I have to rearrange the lint baffle on the spin dryer, but I have watched numerous clips today. Oddly, there was not one single mention of the actual state of our union. The whole reading was about what happened before The One ascended and what is coming down the tracks in the future.
We can certainly not look forward to economic recovery in the foreseeable future if ANY of this idiot's ideas are implemented. There exists no thinking person that could ever imagine anything good coming from the current administration. Let's be serious for a minute, y'all realize that Barry Obama is retarded, right?

As the Blog Turns
Well, dang! That is not good news! I added Haloscan comments when this blog was about six months old because Blogger didn't allow trackbacks. When they added backlinks, their trackback service, I looked at trying to import the Haloscan comments into blogger comments to simplify commenting, but there was no efficient way to do that. So, I have had the two CHOICES for commenting.There still isn't an easy way to import the comments, unless I hire some dude in India to do it. Yes, I downloaded all of them in xml format, but Blogger won't let me import them that way. I'll get around to putting them back in the timeline at some point.
Also, I do not spend any money of this blog. I tried to MAKE money on this blog, but The Google kept sending me e-mails about the cussy talk. Oddly enough, on one day that I got one of those "Gonna wash your mouth out with soap" e-mails, one of their ads was for PORN! So, I stopped doing using Adsense. Honestly, they should change the name to Ad-cents, because I got a total of ONE check for one hundred bucks.
Also, Haloscan has generously offered to allow me to continue to use a service that was free for about four and a half years, yes I sent them a total of eighty bucks in donations over the years, and now they want me to purchase Echo. Patrick uses Echo and it is not bad, but having to use the pulldown to get e-mail notifications is beyond my re-memory level and I comment at his joint and never get the notices because I forget to hit that pulldown.
I told y'all all that to tell you this. From this point forward, there shall only be Blogger comments here. I blog for the discussion, so do not bail on me. Say your piece. We do not require any info, no e-mail addresses, no names, nothing. You get to speak your mind with total anonymity. It's just like voting!
Just so you know, I am headed outta town for a few days starting tomorrow morning, so my response times shall not be what they usually are. I am probably even going to miss the FIVE YEAR BLOG-ANNI of this Testament to Mediocrity.

First things first. When you look for someone to feed to you your talking points, shouldn't MTV be the very first source to which you turn? In my entire lifetime, there have been so many different groups that were politically active, but only on one side of the political debate. Rock the Vote should change their name to Moronify the Vote.
This probably doesn't apply to anyone that reads blogs, but tell your mama and them to switch browsers and then go over to their house and set up the new browser for them. Oh, delete the IE icon, too. Yes, the first twenty-eight times they try to log on they are going to call you, but then they'll stop because the new browser is faster for them to get their recipes and to send their forwards from all the hoax e-mails they get. Yes, switch to G-Mail and you never get another e-mail with "FW" in the subject line. Sometimes this is bad, but I have never found out WHEN.
Big government lurves them some big unions. The really weird thing about unions unionizing government employees is that the idiocy and the corruption that is formed when these two bastions of stupidity merge should be enough to fling us all off of this planet. Do you wonder why it takes an ACT OF CONGRESS to buy a car tag? It is because the people "selling" those plates to you must take forty-seven breaks and twelve vacation days a week.
But, luckily, the Obamoron Administration is here to clear up that madness. And thankfully, we no longer have to worry about Dick Cheney awarding all those no-bid contracts to the sniper teams. Instead, let's export a specific group of folks, pay them millions of dollars to do NOTHING. Really, I have no problem exporting lawyers to Asshole-i-stan.
Oh, if you are still reading the Barrystream Media stuff, here's a partial list of HUGE news stories that you have never seen. Funny, you would think that people that worked for a dying industry, people that all had college degrees in journalism, and people that were by TRADE unbiased would pop in to check on this stuff, huh?

Obama said that he was going to PUNISH Wall Street because those mean bankers were robbing everyone. Of course he was wrong about that, but his solution? What is the end result of everything that Barry has done in his first year, the longest year ever on record, in office? Well, he has effectively destroyed everything that he has focused his retarded brain upon. Housing market, a mere one tenth of our economy? Retracting faster than ever in history. By the way, the housing market is retracting even faster than Goldman predicted, which says a mouthful.
"Healthcare" is a RIGHT, but don't you have to have water to maintain your health? Of course not, Barry changed the rules of anatomy when he was elected Moron in Chief.
But, do you know what is different from 1994? According to Barry, the difference is that The One is in charge. Did you ever think that you would miss Bill Clinton? How funny is that shit?

Drive-By Blogging - More Folder Upkeep and Spammer Updates
Since I have been publishing this blog, starting in 1953, I have had the opportunity to try out all kinds of different interblorgwebbynet stuff. Not the least of these thingies has been e-mail services. Of course, I had a Hotmail address back in the Wild West days. As a matter of fact it was rpm34@hotmail.com. So, I assume I was thirty-four when I LAUNCHED that e-mail almost twelve years ago. Back in the day, blogger comments tended to be more spammy stuff than not, so I started an e-mail on Yahoo for blog traffic. Seriously, that e-mail address is the epitome of all spam gathering places.
This morning I received an e-mail from a friend that had the footer, "Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around" statement prominently displayed, so I decided to check my Yahoo! Mail this month a little early.
You see the results. I had ONE, ONE, ONE NOT spam e-mail of four hundred twenty-four e-mails. By way of comparison, I have received ONE spam e-mail in my G-Mail inbox this month. Yes, I write these things down. And the one spam e-mail I received in G-Mail was a very well written African bank internet letter about a bunch of dust they wanted to give me from a relative that died in a plane crash.
Anyhoo, I am not getting paid for pushing The Google's e-mail service, I just find it to be incredibly efficient and it allows me to share my calendar with clients and friends that have G-Mail, too. Not only that, it is merged with my The Google Reader, my Twittah account, all of my chat services, my blog, my Facebook, and the list is endless. If you are shopping for a free e-mail service, you simply cannot do better than G-Mail.
One more small thing that The Google mail can do. If you use the calendar service, it will send you text messages to your phone reminding you of important stuff. You do not think that I actually REMEMBER your birthday and anniversary, do you? Shit to the naws, The Google remembers for me. It is not that you are NOT the most important person in my life, it is that I am incredibly narcissistic and can only remember my own birthday if I concentrate really hard on it.
By the way, I checked and the perfect e-mail address for YOU is still available at The G-Mail, "ilovethemeatsickle@gmail.com." Go get it, it is your destiny.

Drive-By Blogging - The Economy and Links
Man, we do live in some interesting times, huh? Just like every other generation, too! If we are to be truly informed on the things going on right now, we would have to quit our jobs and do nothing but dig for information on stuff. Who has time to do all of that? ME. That's who.
What am I consistently worried about? Freedom. Individuality. Personal accomplishment. Wealth.
Oddly, all of those things are so intertwined as to be utterly inseparable. Again, there are maybe two different camps of folks. Those that attempt to wind their way through life with minimal outside interference and then there are those that cannot do anything for themselves. I like to think that I am in the former camp, but the latter camp keeps trying to kidnap me and drag me into their camp to support them. I kick and scream in defiance.
There have been monumental changes in the past couple of days that kinda point to the fact that there are quite a few folks that are trying to escape from the loser camp and join the winners.
But, the losers do not want their best and brightest to decamp. They will go to the ends of the Earth to keep that from happening, but once someone's eyes are fully opened, it is hard to shut them again.
The fun part about the election in Massholeland? The Obama administration is going with the meme that it is a referendum on George W. Bush. Seriously, how in the mortal Hell could anyone even get that crazy?
Here is a bulk e-mail from the Party of the Morons that is striking in the ignorance shown. They think that they need to ramp up their agenda even MORE? Folks, these "people" need to be locked the fuck up. They are dangerous to themselves and others.
What do losers do when they are exposed? They immediately attack. And everyone gets bloody. Obama and his depressed band of idiots are attacking our personal wealth like never before.
But, that was to be expected, they have been doing it for a while now.
But, they have ramped up their efforts in the last year. Seriously ramped up their efforts.
The really strange thing is that they makes these ridiculous moves and simply cannot figure out why bad things keep happening. Unemployment is UNEXPECTEDLY higher? Seriously, there is a single person that doesn't know that what Democrats do destroys the economy? Does no one remember Jimmy Carter?
Zero Hedge adds more to the unemployment issue. Do you still believe that the economy is IMPROVING? Or do you see now that Obama and the idiots on his side are lying to you to get what they want?
Why is it that every time the left comes up with an "idea," the end result is the exact opposite of what they intended to accomplish? Could it be because they ignore, mathematics, science, and history? Or could it be because they are inherently evil? Anyhoo, we are going to die if they get their way on medical services.
Do you realize that the folks that have been running the show in DC since January 2007, are wrong on everything?
How do reduce crime? Well, an armed populace does wonders for that. But, the Democrats want everyone to be disarmed, EXCEPT DEMOCRATS. This little tidbit of news brought back memories of another huge proponent of gun control that did the very same thing years ago. (Scroll down to "Controversies.") These are perfect examples of the definition of HYPOCRITES.
You know how to end ALL CRIME? This is seriously the best idea that I have heard in a long time.
Do you know why most folks do not know what is actually going on? Because our national media ignores their responsibility that is inherent in the First Amendment and they simply cheer for their socialist friends. Michelle Obama is amazing? Only to idiots that have no clue what is reality. She is right up there with Hillary Clinton as being a hideously repulsive human being.
And when their leftist groups are busted for their overwhelming corruption, they just regroup under another name and continue the very same tactics.
What do Democrat ultimately hope to achieve? A society that rivals Haiti in its corruption and poverty.
And how do they make it possible to accomplish these goals? By trying to push the idea that morons like the below example are legitimately unbiased. Guess again.

Why is it that every time the left comes up with an "idea," the end result is the exact opposite of what they intended to accomplish? A Brief Refresher on Slavery
Since we are in the process of gearing up for the month of Blackuary and we are vehemently opposed to Black History Month because we are not racists, I thought that I would remind you of the facts of slavery in this country. Also, do not forget that last year we celebrated the first post-racial Blackuary 01 A.B., after Barry. Please check the original Blackuary post BEFORE you start screaming racism.
Slavery in the "new world" started in 1612 with the arrival of the very first black slave. There are two ways to do the counting on slavery's longevity in this part of the world now known as the United States of America. One, from the arrival of the first slave, OR two, from the actual creation of the country. Remember, until the Declaration of Independence, this joint was simply territories OWNED by European countries.
From the arrival of the first slave, slavery lasted from 1612 until the abolition of slavery by the Republicans on December 6, 1865. That is a total of two hundred fifty-three (253) years.
Or from the actual time that this country was founded on July 2, 1776 until the slaves were freed by Republicans on December 6, 1865 is a total of eighty-nine (89) years. Yes, the Declaration of Independence was PASSED on July second, NOT the fourth.
So, either two hundred fifty-three years or eighty-nine years. You got a choice.
By way of comparison, France abolished slavery in 1848. They had been practicing slavery since 843, a total of one thousand five years. Either way you choose to figure our country's slave holding past, France either lurved them some slaves 3.97 or 11.29 TIMES longer.
Oh yeah, France? You suck.

Today marks the one year anniversary of the swearing in of President Moron McDouchetard and the utter meltdown of our federal government. It seems the amount of bullshit (measured in metric tons) that has rolled from DC since the inauguration of this idiot shall never end. As you are well aware, since you can read, Democrats only work to hurt the population of our country, to enslave people, and to make everyone poorer, so let's look at what has happened in the last year.
The main thing is that our economy has tripled the speed with which it is headed toward the shitter, well, unless you are a friend of Barry.
Is it POSSIBLE that Larry Page and Sergey Brin have DOUBLED their wealth (in one year) in the midst of the worst economic crisis in the history of economics? It is UNpossible, right?
No, folks, there are definitely benefits to being tied to corruption. Crime certainly DOES pay. No, I am not saying that Larry and Sergey are criminals, I am saying that Democrats are. I lurve The Google, but isn't it simply strange that Google has doubled its value while the rest of the world is collapsing?
And what do those folks in DC say about what they are trying to accomplish? Really crazy bullshit about PROFIT BEING BAD. But, oddly enough, the economies that they admire would not even produce a friggin' blip on the economies of our individual states. That seems somewhat counterproductive to me, but what the Hell do I know, I never won a Nobel in economics.
You want to know another GUH-RATE idea the morons in DC have? How about increasing the taxes and fees that we will have to pay to do business with our banks? Seriously, is there anyone alive that thinks the executive branch of our government has a single clue at what to do? It is like they keep doubling down on idiotic leftist ideology that is guaranteed to make things worse. OH! Wait! That IS what they are doing!
Just look at what is going on. Barry was elected to do something about medical services costs. We got a huge, sweltering bag of leather pouch sweat that shall do nothing to HELP us pay medical costs. It started out being called "healthcare reform," yet nothing in that bloated sack of crap has anything to do with medical services except to insert more and more government control on what we can and cannot do with respect to our personal finances and our health. (Keep your hands OFF my body!) So, the Democrats changed the moniker from "healthcare reform" to "insurance reform." Ignore the fact that the bill has nothing to do with that either, unless you consider INCREASING the costs tenfold as "reform."
And what about that transparency on the "healthcare" debate that Barry talked so much about? Dang, such BI-PARTISANSHIP, huh? Oh, and how do you get Democrats to sign on to your pet legislation? Well, of course, you bribe them.
With the impending Scott Brown victory in Dumbassachusetts (to be discussed later in this post), Democrats scrambled to figure out a way to pass their idiotic bill to grab a hold of your privates and wring more money from you. They shall attempt any plot and go to the end of the world to enslave all of us and wield the whip again.
Another point is the idiocy of Anthropomorphic Global Warming. Despite the fact that there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO evidence that points toward increasing temperatures, Democrats still pushed for legislation that seeks to control Earth's temperatures. When all of their leftist scientists could not produce one single instance that showed the temperature increase, the criminals in the Democrat Party started the manipulation of our lexicon to change the name of the concept to Catastrophic Climate Change. Then, the unthinkable happened. The leftist scientists were busted manipulating the data and the world saw them for what they were. Again, CRIMINALS.
Those glaciers that were allegedly retreating? Um, yeah, NOT SO MUCH. 2005 was the warmest year on record? Nope, sorry, we LIED. Longtime blogger friend, Steve B, has even more on the NOT MELTING glaciers, with many links. Good stuff for people that are not leftist scientists.
To take the eyeballs off of the leftist criminals douchebaggery, Barry jetted off on a worldwide apology tour. The President of the United States flew around the world twenty times telling everyone on earth that he was totally sorry for the past actions of our country. In plain terms, he spent OUR MONEY going around being a traitor to our country. But, at least the rest of the world now lurves them some 'Murrica, right? Well, they would lurve them some 'Murrica if it were run by Charles Manson. Really, Charles Manson? Holy shit, the whole world hates Barry Obama.
AND THEN! TERRORISM STRIKES AGAIN!!! But, the system was a success!
The Kennedy Commonwealth had a special election to find someone to replace the murdering sleazebag that had recently descending into Hell. On the one hand, a Democrat that single-handedly kept an obviously innocent man in prison for a crime that was never committed, on the other hand, a former nude model.

What is the left's response to the Brown victory? "Massachusetts to Teddy? Fuck you." I am glad that they are finally getting on board with the "Fuck the Kennedys" meme. Normal people have been on that page since the 1950s.
But, when even one of the main causes for the economic meltdown (and from Brown's state, too!) calls for a re-examination at the idiocy that his criminal party is promoting, maybe there is HOPE. The Kennedy Commonwealth had a special election to find someone to replace the murdering sleazebag that had recently descending into Hell. On the one hand, a Democrat that single-handedly kept an obviously innocent man in prison for a crime that was never committed, on the other hand, a former nude model.
In a strange turn of events, the nude model DESTROYED the criminal. In what could be considered the most "progressive" state in the entire country. Granted, Scott Brown is certainly no Paul Mitchell, but to judge on the sliding scale of his home state, he is positively anarchist. And even though Brown won, it still will not keep the socialists on the moron side of the aisle from trying anything at all to meld this country into the failed policies of Stalin.
What is the left's response to the Brown victory? "Massachusetts to Teddy? Fuck you." I am glad that they are finally getting on board with the "Fuck the Kennedys" meme. Normal people have been on that page since the 1950s.
But, when even one of the main causes for the economic meltdown (and from Brown's state, too!) calls for a re-examination at the idiocy that his criminal party is promoting, maybe there is HOPE. We will wait and see, folks, but chances are really good that Barney is just looking to save his chair. Or maybe, Barney really does see the writing on the wall?
Oh, while I am at it, there was some book released a few days ago that points out the overwhelming racism of the Democrat Party obliquely. Zo kinda railed on it for a minute.

Hopefully with arguably the most liberal state in the union voting for a Republican, the morons in DC will see the writing on the wall.
Seriously, Dumbassachusetts is probably the state with the dumbest population, too, and even they see what is happening. The one thing that I base my statement about them being the dumbest state is that when they were given a FRIGGIN' CHOICE to repeal their state income tax, they voted RESOUNDINGLY to keep paying it.

Huge Things in History Today
For some reason government offices are closed today, so I searched my "Today in History" links. Stunning finds abound, but the only reason I could possibly find for those government offices being closed was the fact that January 18, 1943 was the beginning of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. I still have not resolved how our current government could even celebrate that occurrence, since everything the government does today is so very parallel to the governance PERPETRATED upon the world by Nazi Germany. I guess that contradictions MUST BE ABLE to exist in the real world.
And while typing the above paragraph, I received an e-mail from someone asking if I was working on "Martin Luther King Day." I inquired as to when that might be and was informed that it was today. So, I tried to find any reason at all that this could possibly be MLK Day. No such information is available. It is like Dr. King did not even exist on January 18th. Strange, maybe we celebrate his yearly vacation day?
I am still also wondering why the morons in the federal government acknowledge anything that was FOISTED upon this unsuspecting country by that dastardly evil Ronald Reagan. Doesn't everyone know that Republicans HATE HATE HATE black folks? Yes, Ronald Reagan signed the bill creating this "holiday" on November 2, 1983. THAT BASTARD!!!
As far as King's legacy is concerned, I have no doubt that he was a good dude from all that I have been taught. But, I have serious trouble resolving some of the really contradictory things in his historical record. Like, in 1966, Dr. King received Planned Parenthood's Margaret Sanger award for something. In case you did not know, Planned Parenthood has been responsible for more black deaths than any other body in the entire history of the world. Not only that, Margaret Sanger was a Nazi sympathizer that promoted the ideology of eugenics. Weird that Dr. King would accept that award, huh?
President Moron Carter also awarded Dr. King the Presidential Medal of Freedom, posthumously. I find it really, really weird that a Southern Democrat would even consider giving an award to a black dude, even if that black dude was already dead. AND NOT EVEN FROM BEING LYNCHED EITHER!!! I am really curious to know how many lynchings that Jimmy Carter attended personally and if the Nobel Committee would take back his "Peace Prize" for that shit. In case you were unaware, Democrats are the party of the Ku Klux Klan and most of Dr. King's work was vehemently fighting the Democrat Party to get rid of racial segregation and those pesky Democrat passed Jim Crow Laws. Dr. King fought for equality for all races, not for food stamps.
Never forget, without the Democrat Party, the Civil Rights Acts of the 1950s and 1960s would have never been needed. Thankfully, there was a Republican Party that fought tooth and nail to get this legislation passed. So, in all actuality, Dr. King's mission and message was born fighting the racist policies of the Democrat Party that are still in place TO THIS DAY. In fact, the current conscience of the Senate, Senator Robert Byrd (Dumbass-WV), once said that Dr. King was a "rabble rouser" and filibustered against the Civil Rights Act of 1964. HEY! Here is a link about that in the New York Times, too! Just for your information, the "Conscience of the Senate" is a former Klan Kleagle that was paid to recruit more Democrats in the Ku Klux Klan. Yes, the KKK was, and still is, part and parcel of the Democrat Party. In case you want to know a little more about the guy that Democrats call "the love of my life," here's the uncut story.
Harry Reid says Obama is a negro. Bill Clinton says Obama should be getting our coffee. Other than having shriveled up dicks, wonder what these two morons have in common? Yeppers, they are part of that racially sensitive Democrat Party.
So, where does Dr. King's work leave us today? Well, we have a greatly divided country, politically. One the one side is a party that Dr. King GAVE HIS LIFE FIGHTING, and on the other side, a party that joined with him and has somehow been labeled as racist and WHITE. Remember, up is down, right is wrong, and racism can only be white discriminating against blacks. Never can racism be the other way around.
Insert Dr. King's "color of their skin" argument here. You know the drill.
Another hugely idiotic thing that has come about, while quoting Dr. King's work, is the gay marriage thingy. Your hear those that support government control of marriage talking about civil rights for what you do in the privacy of your own damn home. Wonder where this stupid bullshit might lead? Is there any telling what could possibly happen if we continue to allow the federal/state/local government to control our relationships and our marriages? It seems somewhat screwed up to me that ANY MARRIAGE needs sanction from government, but I guess really stupid people like the fact that marriage is no longer between two consenting adults, but between two consenting adults, their accountant, their estate planner, their lawyer, their state representative, their chancery clerk, their justice of the peace, and all other government entities. How romantic!!!
Anyhoo, Dr. King, since I did not know you and can only form my opinions of your work from reading your words and watching your speeches, I am dreadfully sorry that your message has been turned on its ear. My interpretation of your action runs utterly contrary to what is occurring right now. I am also sorry that the Democrat Party found the need to murder you in the prime of your life and we never got to see the true impact of what you saw for our future. I feel the pain that you must feel when I see the folks that you worked so hard to elevate become dragged further down into the mentality of victimhood and it pains me greatly to see no hope in sight to achieve the independence that you must have wanted.
Oh, and what I would not GIVE if Jesse Jackson was still simply the guy that carried the luggage and got sandwiches for you and Ralph. I think that dude is retarded.

Where I Try to Alienate the Entire World
On one of my daily reads, Marginalizing Morons, I saw a post on The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich von Hayek, and it made me want to reread the book. Having misplaced nearly all of my books in my overly crowded attic, I opted for the purchase of a new copy rather than turn the world upside down looking for my old copy. My new copy, The Definitive Edition, is edited by Bruce Caldwell and I have yet to even finish reading the introduction. The introduction to the new edition started me thinking and we all know how that turns out. I bore you with philosophy and my simplistic view of everything in general.
FA Hayek was one of the most introspective academics of the last century. He was one of the main influences that I had when devising my "nothing is mutually exclusive" ideology. Hayek studied the different economic systems, not in a vacuum, but applied with the political, the philosophical, the moral, and the mathematical, and scientific aspects. In other words, he bit off his ideology in the only way that it could be bitten off, in totality. And, not only that, he continued to revise and modify things as new information arose.
One of the very things that Hayek did that interested me so much is he never accepted historical "facts" as settled. He was all too aware that new information always has a tendency to crop up and he literally reserved the "right" to adjust his opinions given new and more accurate data. Exactly unlike the new wave of idiots that call themselves "intellectuals." Think Al Gore or Michael Mann. G_d forbid, Barry Obama thinks of himself as an intellectual, we have all seen how stupid that guy is by now.
I guess if you were to pare The Road to Serfdom down to a single premise, it would be that capitalism is the single most moral economic system devised to date. Hayek accepted man's inherent flaws and actually introduced his notion that social experiments in government could provide a slippery slope that might lead down the road to totalitarianism. He also was all too ready to debate those socialists and accept some of their basic premises because he was an academic that was willing to debate anyone on nearly any topic.
I am not an academic, I am just a dude, banging on a laptop keyboard, that has no care in the world if some moronic socialist gets his/her/ambiguous other's panties all bunched up. They can blow me.
I think that we can all agree that those very social experiments, discussed by the intellectuals, of the past century, are NEVER successful. Simply because, at the helm of all of them, there is a man that has moved to the top and controls those experiments. That man at the helm has a personal agenda and usually it is to FORCE others to live as he expects them. I have no clue why those dudes wind up running things, but you can see it every day, if you actually want to observe what is happening.
Point in case, Haiti. There is not a worse shithole in the entire Western Hemisphere. Wonder why? There seems to be no ideal explanation, since it occupies one third of the island of Hispaniola, the other two-thirds of which is the Dominican Republic. Haiti is a parliamentary republic and is the poorest country on this side of the world. The Dominican Republic is a representative republic and it is nearly the wealthiest country in the Caribbean. If you want to look at the racial aspects of these two countries, Haiti is 95% black and the Dominican is about three quarters a mixed race. Funny how those two countries are nothing alike and they share an island that is less than thirty thousand square miles. It is about the same size as South Carolina, yo.
And now, we enter slippery slope territory. There are certain knowns that make for an easier life. Our good buddy, MUD, again today passes on wisdom regarding money and how not to be a loser. While the post seems like a simplistic view of personal economic stuff, common sense wisdom always has so many more things that are underlying principles.
While MUD's premises seem to be planning one's personal economy, it is really about goals. It is not about manipulating money and attempting to raise the standard of living of everyone collectively, it is about personal responsibility. It is not about the emotional aspect of caring for all folks equally, it is about pointing out the individual actions required to accomplish the end result. Yes, I have no doubt that MUD is a genuinely caring guy, but he is NOT promoting the ideology that HE is responsible for YOU and your future. He is telling you how not to be a dumbass.
MUD's ideology and Hayek's ideology were so parallel as to be exactly the same thing to me. Of course, I relate much better to the words and syntax used by MUD.
A very basic premise of The Road to Serfdom was to push back against the move at the time to a planned or managed economy. Hayek thought that an economy based upon laissez faire capitalism was the best one. This means allowing business to be free of government control. Laissez faire assumes that the consumer is the best gauge of allowable business practices. If a business screws you over, the negative publicity that you give that business will harm them, so the business is forced to conduct their trade in a moral fashion.
No, we have never had this type of economy in the United States and therefore, our country has never been as morally sound as it could have been. As a matter of fact, since the New Deal of Franklin D. Roosevelt and probably as far back as the "republican" movement of Alexander Hamilton, our country has been so strapped by the planned economy of stupidheads, that we are literally moving down the road to a totalitarian government.
Why do I bring this up now? Because not only have we moved further and further toward the model of economy that has brought Haiti to the edge of the financial abyss, our federal government continues to push for further and more control of our lives. Also, for people that are paying attention, we do not have the brightest and most agile brains running the show in the United States. In fact, our current president is borderline retarded.
Bottom line in the debate is this. The way that I deal and trade with any man is determined by my morality, philosophy, and my intellect. The government can pass all the laws they want to achieve moronic perfection of the planned economy, but I shall remain unchanged in the way that I transact with other like-minded men. I refuse to be cowed into submission by anyone that wants to force me to become the supporter of people with morality that I cannot abide. CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION...and that is exactly what the "progressives" are doing in our government today.
I do hope that at some point in my lifetime, we remove the last vestiges of oppressive government from our lives. I can always remain HOPEful.

OH NOES!!! I Gotta Up my Twittah Game Again
Since I have been blogging, I have read thousands (daily) of posts from different blogs that seem to come and go. There are very few blogs that have been around as long as Kathy Shaidle at Five Feet of Fury and have maintained such a large footprint. I think she has been blogging since 2000, maybe? About once every twenty years or so, the morons of the United World Communist Party lie, cheat, and steal their way into power. Of course, this keeps the United States of America from ever realizing the full potential of our philosophy. We simply cannot have total success according to the fascist mentality of the left. We must do everything in our power to make our country suck like Europe or ultimately like all the countries in Africa. Responding to Thoughtful Comments in the Thoughtful Way
One of things about me that drives me crazy is that I have to listen/read/converse/correspond with folks that push my thought processes. Debating someone that agrees with me serves no purpose. We already figured the stuff out, why debate what we agree upon? But, sometimes folks, with whom I agree, bring up counterpoints that take discussions in totally different directions. Such is the nature of throwing comments out and waiting on responses. Trust me, the counterpoints and alternate theories always help me in my thought processes. While I certainly do not take to "brainstorming" very well, I do regard a logical, systematic approach to looking at problems in different ways. Sometimes I jump to conclusions, but other thinking folks are usually there to smack me around and make me see stuff in a different light.
And so, throwing out my first thoughts are always productive for me. Roderick made a comment about the link I posted yesterday about government workers overtaking manufacturing workers in population.
Part of his statement was, "Having more gov't employees can also mean if you want to start a business you need customers that feel secure enough to fund your business. Which means the best prospects for starting a business is in the DC metro area. Not to mention all those contracting possibilities, woohoo fat gov't contracts....$900 wrenches anyone, buy one at Home Depot and pocket the difference!"
Cynical? Hells to the yeah! Correct? Hells to the yeah! But......
In order to employ just ONE government employee, the money must be found to pay them a salary. Money must be found to give them a place to work. Money must be found to give them the tools necessary to perform the government function for which they were hired. That money does not miraculously appear on the ground, it must be taxed from the private sector, because government produces nothing that makes a profit. Remember, the basic idea of government is that PROFIT IS BAD.
Anyhoo, I did not choose to take on ALL of the costs of employing one government worker, I just tackled the actual salary of employing the AVERAGE government worker. Remember, those employed in government are payed almost DOUBLE what the private industry worker pulls down. And I rounded these salaries for ease of graphical representation.
I also pulled the data for this graphic from a far-left moonbat site called "CBS News." Most of their numbers are very wrong, but that is irrelevant to our experiment. They state that the Executive Branch of our federal government is only 1.98 million people EXCLUDING the Postal Service and military. Actually it was closer to TWELVE MILLION people back in 2007, INCLUDING the military and the post office. YES! Military and post office employees are incredibly important in our numbers here, because they make up the HUGE bulk of federal employees. "Here's an idea, let's figure out how much it costs to run government, but let's ignore the VAST OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of labor costs! That will make things look so much better!"
Not only that, the average income from private sector workers is closer to 41k in 2009, because as you recall, Democrats took over our federal government back in January 2007. Private sector salary has been plummeting, as it always does, since Democrats took over. Remember, Democrats always reduce wealth every time they are in power. This has always happened and it always will happen until Democrats stop being Democrats. Democrats = morons.
Using the moonbat site, CBS News numbers, we find that it takes ELEVEN average private sector employees to pay JUST ONE average federal employee. I arrive at this number because according to the flat (no deductions) federal income tax DEMANDED from someone that makes 45k is SEVEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FORTY-FOUR DOLLARS!!! That also represents seventeen percent of that person's income. Ignore the 7.65 percent of income that must be paid from each employee and ignore the matching 7.65 paid by the employer in FICA and Medicare. (But still recognize that is FULLY 32.5 percent of your salary, at 45k, in federal taxes.)
So, at the very barest minimum, there must be eleven private sector employees to just pay ONE federal government employee's salary for one year. If you take this to the very hilt, since there are minimally twelve million federal government employees (prior to 2007), you must have ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-TWO MILLION private sector employees and all of their tax money just to pay those government folks' salary. Do you know how many employed people we have right now? Yeah, me neither, because we cannot get a straight answer from the Fed on anything, but I would guess that it would not be many more than 132 million.
Quick numbers from Wiki, our population is estimated at 308 million. From the federal numbers, the current population of people on Medicare, meaning those that do not work, is somewhere around 48 million. From the Bureau of Labor, total civilian workforce numbers are 153.5 million, but with ten percent unemployed. That means 15.35 million people NOT working, for a total of 138.15 million people working. From that we extrapolate just over six million people paying the electric bill of all the government buildings and all other overhead costs of government, sans labor costs.
Seems somewhat impossible to maintain at that rate, huh? This is not taking into account the huge chunk of money that it takes to offer all kinds of other federal government services. We maintain a highway system, we maintain shipping ports and the subsequent services surrounding those things. We must provide military materiel and bases around the world. We send GINORMOUS amounts of money to other countries. Seriously, the list of wasteful spending is endless to the nth degree. All on the backs of only six million taxpayers. By the way, that straight up tax money from that six million taxpayers is around 44.6 BILLION dollars.
In the paraphrased words of our blog friend, MUD, "that is shelling out much more than you are taking in." It cannot last, it is a losing strategy, and there is only pain, death, destruction, chaos, hate, and discontent to follow.
Just for your information, the United States, in 2005, gave this to other countries in foreign aid:

One of the bloggers that I first started reading got a huge notice from Rush Limbaugh, today. The blogger formerly known as "Rightwing Sparkle," had an entire post read on Rush's show. Kathleen is admitting that she is stunned to think that the Obamoron is destroying our country ON PURPOSE. Go listen to Rush read it.
Another long time blog friend publishes about Media Matters and AGW.
The NEW and IMPROVED Mini Ice Age is upon us.
Shocking employment news! IT. IS. WORSE.
And the labor force participation is at a five year low.
And we have set a record for unemployed percentage of folks.
And more folks work for the government than work in manufacturing.
And the cost of building materials is about to explode this spring.
Consumer credit plunges by 17.5 BILLION - still another record that is overwhelmingly bad.
Our lovely Federal Reserve Board admits their screw up on collateral.
I am shocked that the TSA is not keeping us safe. Luckily this dude with the BOX CUTTER did not have designs to kill a bunch of innocent people.
Matthews says all folks that attended the Tea Parties are WHITE. Oddly, Bob Parks disagrees. Mr. Parks probably disagrees because he is black and attends the Tea Parties. In a really odd turn of events, ALL staff at MSNBC is WHITE. This is a factual statement.
Teabaggers v. Fisters.
And of course, there is a shit-fit brewing over comments made by Harry "Dumbfuck" Reid and Bill "Lecherous" Clinton.
So, now we come to the phase of the criminals that have been in Congress start making a bunch of hook-ups and then start bailing.
And the ones that are not jumping ship are just getting convicted and sent to prison.
