This is News?

I received this LINK from a friend of mine this morning. Just passing the love around.

So, if you want your kid to make good grades in school, name him/her Nikinikitimboohsorimboumamuchigammagammaguchi or Won Hung Lo.

Most likely to fail, huh? If they do, it won't be because of a damn name, sir. I believe there are many more factors involved, which make studies of this sort a waste of time and money. Tell them to send me some of that money to finish my education, then do a study of how my kids' lives dramatically improved...damn names and all!!

Sorry folks, this was not my opinion. And thanks for banishing me to Hell, Mr. Vision of Tolerance.

And if you notice the title of the post and then the subsequent satire, maybe you will receive enlightenment of what I think.

I think it was Shakesphere that once said "what's in a name". However, he didn't meet Shaquanna Aloze Alopecia Jenkins.

Anyway, Condeleeza did pretty well for a skeezoid !!

Check out Levitt's book, Freakonomics. It has a section on the correlation between ethnic names and grades, and a whole bunch else (for instance, he found that a backyard swimming pool is 100 times more dangerous to children than a gun)
