Update of the Webbynets and Stuff (Dammit! It's Cold!!!)

Since I have been back in The 'Sip, I have been trying to get caught up on the stuff that I have ignored for the past eight months in The 'Tuck. It is going, but it ain't going well. Making contacts all over again, lining up work that PAYS MONEY, getting back into the swing of things, it all just takes time. Yes, my posting has gone to Hell in a handbasket and my primary focus has been on things that are not really blog related.

But, dammit, it is cold here. I am wearing long pants and socks, a danged fleece jacket, and just turned the heat on. On the last day of MARCH!!! I blame Al Gore.

Anyhoo, since I have never done this ever before FAH REALS, there is a Pay Pal link on the right sidebar that needs for you to use it. It is in the very top widget. If you have one million dollars laying around gathering dust, I know someone that can put that to good use. Trust me. I blame Obama for that, too. This is what is going on in my industry right now. Seriously, do it, I'm not kidding.

Now for the webbynet news.

We added Disqus comments to our business Tumblr. Go check our stuff out and now you can comment, too!

Today is a HUGE HUGE HUGE day at Blogger, too! They have added some SUH-WEET template upgrades that are going to change the appearance of blogs. If you want to see what Your MoM looks like with these new breast implants and sexy clothing, CHECK HER ASS OUT! Dude, she is SMOKING HAWT! (Yes, it just keeps going and going as you scroll down, too. I went all the way back to September of last year that I can tell.)

Check out the new +1 feature on Google Social Search. At some point in the future, we will not even speak to our friends anymore. We'll just click one button and they'll know everything that is going on in our lives and will know where we are. That future day is NOW.

This week in Teh Google Search. Oh, look, they have a new iPhone app, too! That is good for iPhone users because you cannot CALL anybody.

Oh, LOOK! Chrome Bookmarks integrate with Google Search, now.

Here are the Google Apps highlights from last week. That discussion thingy seems like it will be the next Wave. Online collaboration might have a future, I just do not know how soon that will occur, though.

Speaking of online collaboration and other stuff, here is a Google apology for sharing failures with Buzz.

Google Docs is testing a pagination feature. The thing that gets to me about Docs is that "Home" shows all files. Even when you move those files into a "Folder," they still show up on "Home." I kinda like things cleaner than that, personally.

Flickr has added a Share feature that allows you to integrate with FAILbook, Twittah, Blogger, and Wordpress. The only hiccup? You have to have a Yahoo account. Yuck.

And from PMD Affiliates, "How to do Email Marketing Right." These posts are going to be compiled into a traffic e-book that I am putting together. I think that I am going to sell it for nine bucks or so. Any thoughts on that?

Try to remember to hits that Pay Pal and maybe click some ads. Deddy needs some cheese, please.

Please take the time to comment.

Interwebs, Teh Google, and Tech Stuff

Would y'all believe that it has been over a MONTH since I last posted on stuff going on around the webbynets? If you saw my link folder, you would believe it. Twice in the past year, I simply had to throw everything out and start over, but this past thirty days has been important. Get ready, set, GO!!!

Since we are all about some online jamming, I thought that we could check out how the browsers are doing for hacked. See if you can guess which ones were the easiest to hack and which ones were the toughest. Go ahead, pick the toughest to crack and the easiest. NO CHEATING!!!

Just so you know, Firefox 4 got a bunch more downloads that IE9 on the concomitant release day. Almost FOUR TIMES more. Of course, I still get hits from folks with IE6, so maybe, well, you know.

Here are the stats from the first 48 hours of Firefox 4's release. DANG.

By the way, Basil still has not released his review of RockMelt. And, he doesn't like phones, either.

Here are some freebie apps to help you with your internet and website experience. All free and all good, too. I am going to add some of these to my Web Resources page. And as long as we are dumping this kind of info, I never really found a way to describe this JavaScript Source page.

Since the main thing that we do here is blog, getting more readers engaged with our published work is always a huge goal. Google suggests that you add the new "Follow by Email" widget. I have not tried this yet, but it uses the very same Feedburner technology that the RSS Feed uses.

Here are some of the upcoming features for Blogger. I am already using the mobile template and it looks pretty good on my Droid X, too.

Here are some more features to be released.

One of the main things that I tweak on this blog is junk that produces better page load times. Google has add-ons for Firefox and Chrome to help you in that endeavor.

I have been keeping a really close eye on things since installing Disqus. I know that some people have said that they have to log in every time they visit, but I have not experienced that problem. Plus, Disqus has added log in with your Google Profile, so that makes it easier, hopefully.

I know that I told y'all about the increased internal linking with Disqus, but did you know that most people are saying adding Facebook comments is HURTING your SEO?

A sure fire way to grab all the traffic you want and more is to develop a good lining system. And those links? They need to have a good diversity in order to build Page Ranking and SERP ranking.

One of things that I use to reduce the number of people leaving this site is Linkwithin. The Link Medic has some steps to change the look of that widget. Why change it if it works? Some stuff could work better.

Gmail has added even more services to import into your Gmail. I wish they had done this about five years ago, that sure would have made my life easier.

Xobni has released their sidebar magic into Gmail, too. Xobni adds rich profiles for your contacts. Get Xobni here.

Rapportive is another rich contact insert for Gmail.

More on Google Docs discussions. And more.

Docs has new ways to filter your data in spreadsheets, too.

New stuff in Drawings in Docs.

The Link Medic has a post on Picnik resizing of photos for Picasa. I have Photoshop, Gimp, and Paint.net on my computer, and still I use this method. Strange, huh? No, because it is easier and quicker to change forty different photos at one fell swoop when I am uploading to the Paul Mitchell Design Architecture Tumblr.

You Tube has added the ability to embed Xtranormal and other services to your You Tube videos. No video camera needed!

More NEW! You Tube features.

AdSense has a new homepage. They are rolling out new features for AdSense every Wednesday. Usually, it is a buttload of stuff, too.

Yahoo is trying to actually compete with Google now. Yahoo has added Search Direct. They are offering Real-Time Answers with it, too.

Even Adobe is getting into the traffic game with analytics on their stuff, now.

My next post like this is going to be own transforming FAILbook profiles to pages. Keep coming back.

Please take the time to comment.

This Week in Google and Around the Web

I have so much to cover this week because I have been allowing these links to accumulate and they got really out of hand on me. Please bookmark and come back and red this stuff if it interests you like it does me. Man, there is simply too much knowledge to be had and only so much time to go around.

Before I get into this, I wanted to point y'all to my "Resources" page that I have started over at the PMA blog. This is certainly a Work in Progress, but I think that I have gotten a pretty good jump-start on a good mainly free resource page.

The big news this week on the webbynet is that Google busted Bing for piggybacking their SERPs. The data is really somewhat telling, too. Matt Cutts at Google has the video of a discussion panel on the topic, as well as a link to Stephen Colbert comments.

Also, Google tweaked the algorithm a tad and Cutts has something to say about that, too. Really, I think that Google is going to start to devalue backlinks in the near future because of so much misuse. I do not think that they will ever completely kill backlinks entirely, unless there is some better replacement, but traffic is certainly more wonky lately.

Also, in BIG Google news, Larry Page has now taken the helm with Sergey and Eric moving into different roles as well. I am pretty sure this is nothing but good news. The stock sales are becoming somewhat commonplace, too.

Also, the final blocks of IPv4 were assigned last week. Get ready, IPv6, here we come! This change is going to make room for 340 TRILLION web addresses. That number blows my mind, it is like what Obama spends for a weekend vacation!

A Periodic Table for Google APIs. That is just too cool.

Webmaster Tools is getting into some rounding.

Chrome 9 has now synced with Google Docs to create a web clipboard.

The new You Tube homepage is now available to all users. Also, The Official Google Blog has all the week's highlights on You Tube.

Search

The Link Medic has a bit on the Keyword Eye Keyword Tool. We can always use another tool like that.

Here is a tool from Google on Reading Level search. This comes in really handy if I want to finds links that Democrats would understand, I just put Kindergarten in the level and it spits out stuff written with a big pencil on a Big Chief tablet.

Here's LAST week in Google Search. Includes deatils on "Instant" in "Shopping View."

Linking Analytics to Webmaster Tools. I have pretty much linked all of my Google stuff to my profile. Of course, Your MoM got hacked, too, so they had access to everything for about five minutes. Super FUN!

Google Tee-Vee

Check out a quick tour of Google Tee-Vee. It is going to allow News from any Source, so you need to Optimize your site for Google Tee-Vee.

While we are covering television, Basil has some gripes about Hulu Plus.

Search Engine Optimization

SEOmoz has thirty-two SEO tactics to avoid in 2011. By the way, SEOmoz is running a special this month with a thirty day free trial and the first ten thousand people to sign up, get a chance at winning free service for life!

Here is an Social Media Marketers SEO Checklist.

Here's a guide to using Google's Webmaster Tools for SEO. (Video)

Here's how to set up SEOQuake...

Blogging

Blogger in Draft now has a web fonts tool. Yes, Comic Sans is included.

How to get 250k page views a month. Oddly, the tactics are NOT just post bikini chicks each day, every day. Weird.

Basil also has a Blogger v. the Two WordPresses comparison. I think that since college footbaw ended, he is becoming a tech blogger.

Here is an introduction to Blogger's Android app. I have not used it yet, but plan to very soon, I'll let y'all know what I think.

Wordpress has a podcast on How to Grow Blog Engagement.

David Risley has 7 Colossal Mistakes that Bloggers Make. The dark background thing does bother me somewhat. When I go from the normal white background to a black one, it take a second for my eyes to adjust. It's weird. I'm old.

Google Mobile

You can now port your existing mobile number to Google Voice. (Video)

Google Boost has FINALLY made it to mobile. Check it out.

Google Latitude is their brand of check-in service. This is going to go the way of Wave. I am sure of it.

The Android Market website is live.

Honeycomb supports Scalable Vector Graphics.

AdSense

AdSense Goals and Ecommerce tracking.

Longer headlines for select ads.

Location extensions for your brick and mortar business.

The new Interface has still MORE features. They are updating this every Wednesday, now. So, I shall probably push the Google Dump back to Thursday. HEY! LOOK! It's Thursday!

Docs

Docs has added Preview Pane, Music Player, and a Collections feature.

They have also added Quick Starring, Justify, and improved sharing. The improved sharing is eventually going to allow you to add gif images to Blogger. I can already do it, but it is a damned pain in the butt.

Also, the new List Refresh is cool as all get out.

Gmail

Priority inbox is now on Mobile. Unless you have an iPhone.

Google has now added advanced sign-in for Gmail which is really good.

Print from your phone. Who would have ever imagined that twenty years ago?

The Reader link has already been re-added to the menu. It was gone a whole day. But, if you notice, every Google Feed pumped out a test pattern for JS-Blogger-Client. Wonder if that has anything to do with JS-Kit Comments?

Also, this week we got a notification pop-up that calls are free again in 2011. Good deal.

Labs now has Instant Search, too. We didn't need that two years ago when all we could do was play Snake. Today it's different.

And, you'll notice that there is now an unread message icon available in Gmail Labs, too. Shown in the image as "Count!!!"

Desktop notifications for Gmail work okay. I guess I have just gotten used to keeping mine open though and now with the Count showing up on the bar, I know when I have mail.

In case you were looking for some storage, you think 16tB is enough? Only 4k a year from Google. 20gB is only five bucks a year. I am guessing that your data would be pretty safe, too.

Google Enterprise has Gaining Altitude: A New Way to Think About Your Inbox.

By the way, HOTMAIL has started offering aliases for your e-mail. Read, this is awesome.

I am going to have to break this into two posts, it is already WAY too damned long. Don't forget to check out my Resources Page. I am going to link it Your MoM's header, too.

Stay tuned, we are about halfway through this week's links.

Please take the time to comment.

Teh Google Post and Blogging Technique Stuff

This post has been in the works since Wednesday, better known around these parts as "TEH GOOGLE DAY." Since I started this post, bunches and muches of stuff has happened to open my eyes to some SEO stuff and y'all could get the monumental benefit of my knowledge.

You have to sign up for the information, though. If you have already signed up, it is all good, but I am making all the effort in the world to get more folks involved. Now, regulars here kinda think that there is no need to sign up with The Two Dogs Make Your Blog Awesome Like Glenn Reynolds Information School, but yes, it matters and I'll tell you why, too.

We'll just embarrass one of the most faithful commenters that we have, Cousin Andy. You see, Andy seems to think that his little blog is no big shakes, but I am here to tell you that it is HUGE in the scale of the interwebs.

Not to release too much of his business, but Andy's Place is currently, at this very moment, holding down the 4,754,663 spot at Alexa. Now, you'll think, "Poor Andy, he is sucking HARD!" but you would be dreadfully wrong. Granted, there are plenty of ranking ties involved there because the metrics are not exact enough to break those ties and we really do not need that, either. Andy is also holding down a PR4 at Teh Google. (By way of comparison, my business site is a big whopping ZERO.)

In case you are curious, the Blogger in Draft page that I am typing this on is ranked NUMBER SEVEN at Alexa.

There are currently 1.1 TRILLION indexed pages on the web. In case you are a "Progressive" and do not know what that means, that is 1,100,000,000,000. That means that Andy's Place is ranked in the TOP ONE PERCENT of all websites in the world. That's pretty solid if you ask me.

Yes, I realize that you are thinking, "What the Hell does this have to do with me?" Well, while we all say that we are blogging for ourselves, there is nothing that makes me feel better than a long comment thread with much discussion and that gives me a thrill. It makes me feel IMPORTANT and stuff. Same way as I feel when I flip over to check the traffic stats and see a huge surge coming from a bunch of different places.

So, go sign up. I have no idea what kind of response you shall get from the sign-up autoresponder, so if it is something weird, e-mail me. When I get a bunch of folks in place, I am going to give y'all my data from the Teh Google Traffic Studies that I have been doing to go from virtually zero traffic to around 2500 hits a day in Search Engine Traffic. And, TELL YOUR FRIENDS, TOO.

Not only that, but I am also going to give y'all the tricks to getting a HUGE number of backlinks if you are willing to do the work. I might even give y'all my spreadsheet where all you have to do is change one cell and start cutting and pasting.

Just curious, how would you like to have the NUMBER ONE blog in your area of expertise? We can do that easily, too.

Now, to the Internet BLOGSHOW!!!

In case you are wondering what won the Best Antivirus program of 2010, it is F-Secure, the suite that I have used since 2000 and Love Bug Virus. I am NOT an F-Secure affiliate and I still use their product exclusively. In the past eight years, I have only had one problem with any virus or spyware.

Firefox 4 Beta was released on last Friday. (Alexa Rank 65, HA!)

If your RSS Reader is getting chock full and you need to start smalling it up a bit, try TLDR.IT. Their service turns any page or .pdf into a summary. You can only imagine how many times I have used this to summarize SEO E-Books.

Basil has a Roku v. Apple Tee-Vee shootout. Wait, can I say "shootout" anymore without killing people and stuff?

If you are a big e-book reader, you should try the Kindle Lending Club. I have not used this service yet, but the description sounds pretty good.

I am checking out Quora right now and would like to know what y'all think about it. As I stated above, my business site is kicking back a cool ZERO in PR and I am trying anything to bring that up, now. The problem with my business site is that I set it up as a static page and now I do not want to have to jack it around and change it, but since there is NO content, I am afraid that I am going to have to do just that.

If you are a smartphone user, then you probably figured out how to use Teh Google Goggles, but did you know that all of your searches and stuff can be accessed by going to http://www.google.com/goggles/history? Well, now you do.

The Link Medic has a review of Klout. Using this service is certainly in my future.

With the SIXTH! birthday of this blog barreling down upon us, I wondered if longevity mattered and SEOmoz actually answered my question on White Board Friday. Short answer, NOPE.

If you are a Teh Google Enterprise user, good news. Teh Google promises ZERO DOWNTIME. That seems like a pretty good deal, huh?

Here are last week's Teh Google Apps Highlights.

G-Mail gets spell checker for search. It still cannot make a latte for me, though.

I am not sure, but I think that I have had Android 2.2.1 on my X since mid-December, but here are the Android 2.2.1 platform highlights, anyway. It appears they have addressed quite a few shortcomings recently, too.

Still MORE features of the new AdSense interface.

Oh, autogenerated content? Teh Google NO LIKEY.

I am about to embark on some testing with the Teh Google AdWords campaign-y thing driving traffic. This was mucho helpful, too.

In case you were wondering, here is Problogger's Definitive Guide to improving Advertisement Clickthrough.

AdWords, Keywords, Go Mobile, dang, this is getting complicated!

And monetize your exit pages, YOU!

And danged if the Teh Google didn't go and change the AdWord urls right when I was getting started, too!

Download the new AdWords Editor, here.

Teh Google Engage launches to help small businesses. If you are a web guy or IT guy, you need to sign up for this stuff. Remember, Teh Google owns the world.

Coming soon to Teh Google Tasks near you.

Check out all the new stuff at Picasa.

A Problogger's top five favorite Teh Google Analytics happies.

If you have not signed up and started using Hotpot, why are you ruining the world? You know that the Phonebook is useless these days. Start helping out.

Integrated Apps to help with tax season with Teh Google Enterprise. Dang, there is a bunch of stuff there!

I am going to have another post this week with Teh Google stuff and some Wordpress stuff, too. Hell, I might even mention stuff going on with RIM and others. Keep coming back, y'all.

Oh, and you need to get on my list, too. Here is my "p0wning the webbynets blog"s to give you an idea of what is coming. There is a sign-up form there, too.

Please take the time to comment.

Sunday Traffic Coming Down

We have pretty much figured out how to rank on Teh Google for some of the biggest topics of the day. This blog is a PR5, so Teh Google actually gives us a little more weight than the average bear. Plus, some of the higher traffic sites, like HuffPo and their ilk, do not publish their stats or embed Teh Google Analytics.

We do, so Teh Google probably gives us leeway in the SERPs.

We are good with that, too.

But, dude, seriously, I have no clue what the Hell Bing does for their stuff. I cannot rank on Bing for some of the searches that I OWN at Teh Google, then for other things that we do not expect, we get way up in the rankings.

Throughout the next three months, I am going to be running some of the very keyword trials on Bing as I did for Teh Google last year. We'll see how that works out.

By the way, if you want to get a bunch of traffic from somewhere and never find out where you are linked, try The Blaze. I have been getting oo-koodles of traffic from their site over the past two days and I have no idea how. Any hints?

PLUS! THIS JUST IN: IT IS NOT SEPTEMBER and it shall not be September for about four whiles.

Please take the time to comment.

P0wning the Innerwebs - A Teh Google Tutorial

Obviously, the folks at Teh Google took the week off preceding Christmas, then they had to double up this past week. That is always a good thing for me, because I like reading their stuff.

I likes dee internut, bunches and muches. But dude, the past few posts, it is like I am writing War and Freaking Peace. Sorry, I promise I am going to tighten these up a bit AND soon.

HUGE news for You Tube today is that new Speaker of the House John Boehner, immediately upon being sworn in, started releasing stuff on You Tube. Teh Google has nothing but good stuff to say about that. Funny, we had four years of the criminal Democrat Party running the House like a Chicago gangland mafia, now the day that the Republicans take over again, TRANSPARENCY!!!

No more Democrat Fight Club. Of course, their Fight Club would be nothing but a bunch of limp-wristed slap fighting.

On my affiliates blog, I have some pretty good traffic tips this week, with a link to some really good PR building software. If you have not signed up for my e-mailings, you should do it over there. I am still working on the danged lightbox sign-up thingy. You can just hit the "X" at the top to close it.

Here is a quick traffic generating post for y'all, too. If you are like me, you blog for the conversation. Conversations are hard to have by yourself, you know?

When we went live over on the other blog, I started earnestly looking for How To sites. Oddly, I have never really done that. If you have a Blogger blog, here are some new templates from The Link Medic. There are quite a few really good technology sites on the web dealing with blogging. I think that you'll find this resource invaluable if you want to build your blog to bigger and better stuff.

Teh Google releases their top posts on their own blogs for 2010. I wonder how difficult it is to find your top posts if you are Teh Google and you have all the technology in the world?

Copyblogger has their Best of 2010.

Daily Blog Tips has their Best of 2010.

Ever since FAILbook a-sploded, everyone is keeping an eye out for the next HUGE thing. Mashable posts their Top Ten to watch in 2011. Mashable also had a post a while back on how to market your small business with ZERO MONEY. That is exactly what we want for our personal blogs, huh?

SEOmoz has Five SEO Tactics to Explore in 2011.

You know what is really stunning to me? Looking around to see the major payers that were HUGE two years ago that are not around anymore. Here are the Web 2.0 Awards 2008 Winners from SEOmoz. The Social Media mainstays numbers one and two kinda swapped places, plus number three Bebo will let you sign in with a FAILbook log in now.

But, on the Social News - The Big Guys division, del.icio.us was number one in 2008 and today Yahoo is debating whether or not to shut it down. This could be devastating to the information loops that have developed on del.icio.us. From what I read, no where on Earth can we find a better search wheel tool. Better get those links off of the service soon, here's how.

In case you were wondering, yes Teh Google did give out some Christmas presents. Downloadable custom web analytics reports. You wanna know what your site is doing and why? Here ya go.

Google Operating System has their Teh Google predictions for 2011. If Teh Google does half of this stuff, they might make a bunch of money. Oh...wait...

Here is a Buzz debate on the future of Picasa this year. And also the first PLUS argument that I have seen for Internet Explorer in quite some time.

Weird that someone is hawking IE when Chrome just got Voice Search, huh?

Teh Google Docs Viewer just added spreadsheets. Good move.

Teh Google Mobile has a sneak peak at Honeycomb, Android 3.0
. Personally, I really have no use for a slate/tablet/chick magnet. I like my laptop with a Droid X just fine, thanks.

Google Operating System has some shots of Honeycomb in action. Okay, maybe my above comment was a tad too hasty, might have to walk that one back a bit.

Did y'all know that President Obama might have done something to crush the online marketing industry and we did not even hear about it? Click through Jeremy's link to the Joe Lilly article. Dude, I might be shutting down my business if we do not hurry up and get this buffoon out of the White House, soon. Can anyone point to anything the President has done that was NOT idiotic?

Get a fresh start this year with AdSense. Folks, even if you do not want to attempt to make a danged living with your website, the ads actually help those folks that DO. And you can check your earnings right from Firefox, too.

Here are the stats on folks buying digital products, by the way.

Why did I say that YOU putting AdSense on your site helping others? There are numerous reasons for doing it, but the main one is Capitalism. When you add those Leaderboards and ad blocks to your site, you are making a statement that I believe in to the utmost.

PROFIT IS GOOD.

What it all boils down to is that we enjoy our little online family and the interaction that we have daily. If we notice those ads on our friends sites, we can take those few seconds to drop a few coins into their coffers by checking out the offers. It is not unlike window shopping with our buddies.

And now the fun part. We want MORE buddies, right? That means traffic, y'all.

We can apply the very same tactics to grab traffic as PepsiCo and BP, even though we are simply placing our lives on the webbynets. The very same methods that they use are the ones that we can use to get more buddies.

We have to BRAND our stuff. point in case, y'all come here to read my rants on how stupid Democrats are and what the Four Letter is NOT doing to keep me from the College Gameday top slot. i try to rank on Teh Google for certain keywords that will increase my traffic and grow the fambly. I use Teh Google Analytics to find out where those folks come from when they get here and to know where they go to when they leave. Teh Google Analytics links to a post on advanced Analytics Visitor Segments that tells us more than we can possibly know about the folks that came to our place.

Plus, we can use our social media profiles to drive even more people to our blogs. Here is a list of the TOP 101 Social Media Sites. Didn't know there were 101 social media sites in the world, didja?

There is another way to grab more traffic, too. Entireweb Search Engine.

I have been hitting and missing for the past six months on hooking up every single one of these start-ups. How's my traffic? 505,241 pages views right this minute, since July 4th 2010. Did my content change at all from before then? Not that I can tell other than throwing the NUDE posts in and starting the Teh Google stuff. Minor changes = explosion in traffic. Have I changed at all? Lord, I hope not just because traffic went crazy.

Anyhoo, I changed the look of the blog, cleaned things up a bit, made it MO' pretty and worked on the branding somewhat. I am still going to fix the pages menu at the top and add a Favicon to the headers. How about some ideas on the LOOK of the Favicon?

Next, I am going to work through these 125 tips for building a smoking brand! Does anyone object to more "Your MoM" branding? Do those jokes get old? Not for me, let me roll over and ask Your MoM. SEE?!?!?!?!

By the way, y'all, if y'all have any questions on stuff like these links, hit me up in the e-mail, I'll see if I can find an answer for y'all.

And HAPPY TRAFFIC.

Teh Google, Blogging, Traffic, and Whatnot (UPDATED!!!)

UPDATE: I signed up for this allegedly incredible list building thingy and I have to get three people to sign up within the first three days to E-X-P-L-O-D-E my list. Go sign up here, and confirm your membership. I'll let you know how it works, in a couple of days. (No, I do not get paid for that, either.)

Man, at year's end, Teh Google starts blasting out some stuff and then NOTHING for a week, but ignore that, first things first...

Wordpress has some critical issues going on. Of course, I do not technically self-host all of my Wordpress blorgs, so my hosting company done got me fixed up.

Just checking, but did you run over to my business site and sign up for the e-letziner on blogging, traffic, making oo-koodles of money and stuff? If not, click through and sign-up on the little pop-up thingy. No, it is not spammy at all. It is one of the first tricks that I finally figured out. I am almost certain that I can do it on this blarq too, but I have never tried. Should I?

In case you are not reading my Online Marketing Blerk, here is a post that we did on basic BEFORE the traffic stuff. Check it out, link the post, share the post, subscribe to the blauk, and send me money! And as long as you are dying to send me money, check out that shiny new "recommended" thingy on the top of the sidebar.

Now...on to Teh Google SHOW!!!

Blogger has really upped their game this year. I have been using this platform for almost six years now and it has never been better. Here are the upgrades to Blogger from 2010.

In case you are trying to put some rudimentary SEO in place on your Blogger blork, SEO starts in the post title. Watch...

As long as we are talking about blogging and getting traffic, please always keep in mind that CONTENT IS KING.

By the way, the old Keyword Tool is being taken down. Of course, here is the new keyword tool, but use the old one for as long as you can because I think that it is a little better.

SEOmoz likes to use You Tube for keywords as well. This makes assloads of sense, too, since You Tube and FAILbook are the main sites on the 'net right now.

SEOmoz also has six news SEO tools for us to play with. Honestly, I have not used any of them, but I have never been lead awry by SEOmoz, ever.

SEOmoz also dips into our Teh Google pool and reviews some of Teh Google's SEO stuff. I have started my Teh Google Wonder Wheel video and if you will go sign-up to get my SPAMMY news-ezine-email thingy, you will get first blush on my take on the Wonder Wheel.

While we are yapping about traffic and SEO, why don't you go ahead and add your Teh Google Analytics to your Teh iGoogle page?

As long as we have ANALytics (heh) on the brain, why not check out this video about AddThis's ANALytics (heh)?

If you recall, I just said that FAILbook and You Tube were getting all the traffic, I forgot to add Twittah, Linked In, and StumbleUpon. If you want all my data, hit up my QR Code on the sidebar.

Speaking of FAILbook, do you want to do that profile photo hack thingy? Mashable has yet another way to handle that. (Isn't that Kim Jong-il further down the page? His profile photo is BANGING!!!)

Teh Official Google Blog has a post of the latest from Teh Google Labs. Most of these things are stuff that we have already covered here, but you cannot expect Teh Google to be MORE up to date on Teh Google than I am...

Do you use Teh Chrome browser? Got some of them links, too!

Lovely Charts for Teh Chrome.

Here is a file sharing extension for Teh Chrome called Ge.tt. Seriously, Rapidshare just got their nuts kicked in. Free pr0n for everybody!!!

I tried to get me one of those test Chrome laptops about a month ago. I just found out that I would be slamming the thing against the concrete if I get one. You cannot use a jump-drive on it without an act of Congress. Of course, that makes total sense if everything you are doing is in the cloud. But, how are we going to get our stuff IN THE CLOUD to begin with?

Maybe if everyone else is using a desktop and we are all connected on Salesforce Chatter, all will be well?

I was looking back at Tech 2010 and ran across these start-up logos. Really? Foursquare started in 2010? Seems like it has been around since I was BORN!!!

Since I am getting ready to launch thousands of e-books this next year, I found a great e-book cover tutorial. If you want me to make yours, e-mail me and we'll work something out.

And you know that I'll be nekkid when I am making that e-book cover, too. Mainly because I learned from the Mistress of Working Nekkid.

Before we sign off, what would Wednesday be without a Rule 5 or Humpday Hottie post?

Just so you know, I am going to pump out some good e-book content in 2011, so get you something to gnaw on those books with!!!

The Late Teh Google Posting Post!!!

With the onslaught of Christmas cheer and visiting with family, I simply forgot to post Teh Google updates and weekly gifty-gifts yesterday. Well, that seems par for the course on this pinnacle of mediocrity, amirite?

Let's get to it, folks, I got a family to upset and arguments to start for Christmas.

First things first. Before the beginning of 2011, you need to set up a Terms of Service page and a Privacy Policy page for your website. Do not skip this, just go do it. There are changes coming to the Webbynets because of the criminal Democrats in DC. Both services are free and easily completed. Fill in the blanks, it is Barry Obama proof, even.

Here is an additional Terms submitter page.

By the way, you need to print these out and keep them with the rest of your blogging business paperwork. If you are on Firefox, here is a Print PDF add on so you can keep a digital copy as well.

Also, the Democrats are going to screw you if you take music from someone and do not pay for it. Check out these tips for LEGAL music usage. You know, this blogging thing used to be so much fun, but it only took the Democrats since 2007 to really screw it up.

Plus, since the Democrats are destroying business, wealth, and freedom at a very rapid pace, we small businessmen and women have to adapt, adjust, hide, sneak, and plunder in order to rake a small amount of jack to the hizzouse.

Teh Google has compiled the stuff that we asked for them to provide.

The main thing that we are going to have to do this year is find people to buy our stuff online. That starts with Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Here is a basic glossary of SEO terms.

SEO Book put together a great graphic on exactly how Teh Google processes search terms. Print it out, post it on your wall, and memorize it.

Set realistic goals for what you want to accomplish in 2011. If you want to go from forty hits a day to over 2000 a day, that is NOT unreasonable. Do you know how I know? I did it with a very limited effort in 2010. ON. THIS. BLOG.

In case you were wondering where you can get loads of free traffic, try that social media behemoth, FAILbook. Stick a "SHARE" button on everydamnedthing. Here's who's sharing our stuff. ME.

Then, learn Teh Google's Webmaster Tools. Make you a folder and start saving these Tips posts.

Seriously, here is a tip straight from Teh Google Webmaster Blorx. I have read it threeve times already and STILL do not have a clue what it says. Wikileaks Task Force?

The Webmasters Blorx also has tips for Non-Profits.

The main thing that we need to learn to understand is organic traffic. Yes, we are going to keep getting our friends to the site, but we have to grow the family. Since Yahoo is scaling back Delicious, you better grab all the data you can from the service while it stills lives and breathes.

Plus, if you offer goods and services from a typical local business, claim your listing on Teh Google Places, NOW. This FREE service has sent me some pretty good traffic over the last few weeks since I started using it. Of course, that traffic is there for ME to convert to money and I have been failing miserably at it, but I promise I am going to do better.

And while we are talking about using Teh Google's free stuff to get you an online presence, let's watch Teh Google Sites at work.

Folks, we have to get really creative in 2011 in order to survive the Democrat attack on the population. You do not want to starve, do you?

Google Analytics has added page specific stats. If you have a Google Account, you can sign in with it to get your Analytics code for your site.

I have decided to play around with getting backlinks from some unusual places. The Examiner offers some online publication in niche markets and I signed up for the green building niche on my business site. I guess I need to start posting some articles about how stupid green building technology is so I can get cut off immediately.

Also, I have signed up to make Your MoM a Teh Google News Site and they keep sending me more and more hoops to jump through. The Privacy Policy was one, the Terms Policy was another, now they want me to meta-tag my stuff...

Teh Google News gives us some tips on meta information to include with our stuff to keep folks from stealing it. Believe me, I never thought in a million years that someone would lift some of my posts word-for-word, but it has happened. Dumb. But true.

2010 was a H-U-G-E year for Teh Google Docs. Here is a list of their accomplishment this past year. I would like to be able to take credit for all that junk, but Hell, I cannot even get them to move the damned SPAM button away from the ARCHIVE button in G-Mail.

Here's yet another post on the new interface for Teh Google Docs. In the past month, they have upgraded the interface four times of which I am aware. Each time it gets better exponentially.

Now, revisions in spreadsheets. Are you still using Lotus Notes? FOOL.

Do you want to see what you can do with Teh Google Docs? Watch...

Here is another video about another Teh Google product interface. They have updated the AdSense interface AGAIN. I swear that I am going to start calling them, "Google Claus."

When you consider that with the introduction of Android, normal people are starting to use their phones for more than just talking, you might want to start developing your website for mobile web, too. Yes, I realize that you do not want to do business with people that use the iPhone, but you might just have to do that until it goes the way of the iMac.

Oh, why not just go ahead and make you an Android App, too?

Plus, tying that Teh Google Local into the phoney-phone, you need to start using Hotpot and rating stuff. This is a sooper-dooper targeted search capability. People are moving around LOOKING for your product. You simply cannot do any better than that, yo. Better put that SEO knowledge to work, huh?

In addition to using the FREE! Teh Google services, you might want to look into using other services that are gobbling up traffic hand over fist. Posterous has started e-mail lists. Every guru on Earth has said, "The money is in the list" in one form or another.

Tumblr has been called many things over the last year, but The Best Of is one title that keeps cropping up. Check out my architecture Tumblr HERE.

Wanna make that wacky-wild FAILbook profile thingy? There are many different ways, check FAILBOOKING, or FBCrop, and even TechCrunch has video. Yeah, I did it for ONE DAY. B-O-R-I-N-G.

Mashable has the specs to update your Twitter profile for the "new" interface. Are you using the new interface? I use Seesmic Web, so I do not. Tell me if you are, so I can update my little place on the Twitterverse if you want it.

Speaking of Twittah, Embedly is a really cool feature for linking on Twittah. I am not really sure how that Readon.ly is going to work because it doesn't shorten the Tweet. Wikileaks Task Force?

Captious Nut at Marginalizing Morons sent this link to some Teh Google Chrome extensions and features that I did not know about. The Resources page is great!

By the way, if you make more than twenty grand online, the Democrats have added a new 1099-K form that you will have to file. Vote those bastards out every chance you get, please?

Just so you know, if you are in New York, need a job, and can do some webbynet kinda junk, Teh Google is looking for you. Plus, they bought a building where you will work.

In case you were unaware, Christmas is just around the Friday. You better get busy making a gingerbread house. OUT. OF. MEAT.

If I do not see you before Saturday, Murry ChrimmaHanaKwanzica.

Traffic Tips - A Primer

When I got up this morning, I noticed an abnormally HUGE amount of traffic. In case you are wanting to duplicate this feat, just rank on the first page of Teh Google Image Search for "GOOGLE."

Hopefully, whalecottage.com has experienced this same amount of traffic or better, because I lifted that image from them. I did have the good manners to name the file accordingly. I do not do that too often, either.

Teh Google, SERPs, and Technology Newz...

Normal people want to make more money and smart people know that as time goes by, the Interwebs is going to be the way to do that quickly and efficiently.

Since I fancy myself a smart guy, I have been spending some time trying to figure out how to rake in the dust online. Obviously, the MAIN issue is getting traffic to your page. This is easily done if you do a few very simple things.

First, you have to embrace Teh Google. Make no mistake, Teh Google simply must keep getting better or it shall be replaced as the Search Engine of choice. Right now, though, Teh Google is the main game. I was asked this morning if I was really such a Google fanboi and I must answer in the affirmative. I want traffic, so I must embrace the technology that delivers around 80% of my traffic right now. I am also playing with Bing, but seriously, their SERPs are just not very good. I do not care what the tech blogs say, I can search for hours on Bing and NEVER find anything that remotely answers my query.

Here's the target that I chased yesterday, "sarah palin nude." *Click the image to see it bigger* When we started trying to rank, there were just slightly over 1.1 million results for that string. Today, there are 1.07 million (see "B"). I dunno why we lost around 30k results, though. De-indexing maybe? But, you see that my post went up just after noon yesterday, by one of the clock, I was already number one on Teh Google Blog Search. So, it took less than thirty minute to be AT THE TOP of "Blog Search." I did make it briefly onto the front page of Google's main search page and this screenshot was taken right before I started this post. We are on the middle of page two.

I also showed you in the post yesterday that there were no GOOD images in the Instant Preview. As you can clearly see, mine has a clear photo (see "D") with a very good preview paragraph (see "C") talking specifically about Sarah Palin getting all nude-y and stuff. No preview that is outranking me is better. But,w ill I keep that traffic that we grabbed with less than admirable means? Of course not. Will that traffic be valuable in the long run? Well, they will never come back, so the answer is a big NO.

Where is this diatribe going? To consistently rank and get more and more traffic, you have to rank for the searches that people WANT. When you get that traffic, you have to be able to hold those folks in order to monetize their traffic. That is MUCH MUCH MUCH easier said than done, though. However, I have gone from about 400 regular hits per day to a little over 2000 per day since I started this traffic experiment. "Larissa Riquelme nude" did not hurt either.

Quick tips for traffic surges: Number one is obviously have a post title that is provocative. For instance, if you want to rank for Barry Obama, I suggest something to the effect of "Barry Obama Caught With Reggie Love's Junk in His Mouth." Then fire up Teh Twittah, use the same title with a shortened url, and add the hashtags #tcot, #p2, #ocra and #rebelleft. Works like a charm.

By the way, Teh Google has actually published a pdf on Search Engine Optimization. (Right click and download, it is a hotlink, I'm so bad.)

If you want some actual sustainable traffic tips, you should sign up for my newsletter at the pop-up on my website. No, I shall never give you e-mail out, I shall never spam you, and I'll never ask you for money. Well, unless you want to donate to my Pay Pal at linked on the right sidebar.

By the way, speaking of the right sidebar, please note that I now have a QR Code there. Try out your smart phone with it and you'll get all my contact info. I feel like James Bond with that crap. If you want to make your own, shoot me an e-mail and I'll let you know how.

Here be the Tech Links, yo...

You did know that Twitter has instant notifications, right? If you are like me, you turned them off because walking through the grocery listening to "DROID DROID DROID DROID" can get pretty irritating. It does help to know who re-Tweets your stuff, though. It builds relationships, which is important to making MONEY.

And here's how to customize your Twittah background with their latest interface.

If you want to know how your site stacks up against others for traffic and stuff, do a little research at this site. Enter the competitor's url and find out what they are up to.

Needlebase is another great tool for checking out your competition, and ReadWriteWeb has information to help you use it.

As far as your traffic is concerned, video is a great way to get noticed, too. If you are filling up the Twittah and the FAILbook with stuff, you can now link to You Tube COMMENTS and send traffic in more than one way. Fun stuff. You Tube comments are awesome for dropping links to your site, too. Keep in mind, You Tube is owned by Teh Google and they index everydamnedthing.

Another great Teh Google tool for increasing links, traffic, and expertise is their Moderator service. Post a series and get free Teh Google traffic to wherever and whenever you want.

By the way, if you are going to be making money online, you need to get LEGAL. You need to post a Privacy Policy and a Terms/Conditions page. Those two links shall make accomplishing those two tasks simple as pudding pie. You're welcome, hit the damned Pay Pal to compensate for my legal advice. (I am not an attorney, plus I do not lie, cheat, and steal, either. They will not let me be an attorney because I do not fit the three primary requirements.)

The Google Commerce Search is one year old.

Analytics has added some more features, AGAIN. Dude, I can't ever catch up with all their stuff.

Teh Google Affiliates has added some new folks. SEARS!!! Just in time for Christmas, too!!!

Man, it is STILL snowing here and I am starving to death. I wish there was a woman around to make me a damned sammich. Check out the latest Tivo special below, too. It is FREE FREE FREE!!!

Please take the time to comment.

Check out this great deal on TIVO.

Thinking About Teh Google Instant and Previews - PLUS Da Newz...

I have not really given enough thought to exactly what Teh Google Previews means, but certainly a good thorough look-see is in order.

Just using this NUDE post, we can see that there are quite a few sites that do not have a preview. Not only that, but the text snippet of my post obscures the actual image on my blog. So, for this search "christina del basso nude," I am actually screwing up my own danged chances of getting traffic. (Check "larissa riquelme nude" and you can see the difference. There is another image at the top of the page that is obscured, but the photo of the girl is not. Lesson learned: add two images, with the more provocative at the bottom.)

I am not really sure how HARDCORE a pr0n site has to be to get un-previewed, but after checking out those top two that were not previewed, I can understand why Teh Google would not show a preview. Dang!

So, not only is great content important, but the visual is becoming increasingly so, as well. Thank goodness we changed the look of the blorx. Now I am going to become all weirded out about the way the blark looks in Teh Google Preview.

Think about it, you folks that are looking for Search Engine traffic.

ON TO THE BLOGSHOW!!!

President Dumbass McMoron went on a ten day trip to Asia and all he got was South Korea bombed. But, don't worry, Mr. I Cannot Even Use a Damned Phone is on Da Jobz. (No, that is NOT an actual photo, it was commissioned by Frank J at IMAO.) I am really curious to know why the South Koreans turned Barry down on a trade deal and suddenly the Norks decided to attack the South.

If you could think of something that you would do as the formerly most powerful man on the planet, sending one of our carrier groups directly into the WAR ZONE might not be the most constructive thing that you would do. Plus, with China getting involved, I am certain that nothing could go wrong with things since The Smartest President in History is on the job.

But, then again, if you were president, you would not be such a stuttering idiot. Really, who in the mortal HELL ever thought this imbecile was anything other than a special needs person? HOLY SHIT!!! China is INVOLVED!!!

I am so very thankful that Barry Obama picked Joe FREAKING Biden as his Vice President because Doddering Joe has all kinds of foreign policy experience. I am certain that he would never refer to the United States as Afghanistan's DADDY! FML, he did.

At least Barry is keeping our Southern border safe from invasion. I cannot imagine what would happen if Mexican drug lords took over a large ranch just South of San Antonio. That would be just too much to handle. Goodness, if they did grab that huge tract of land, they would have a great place to stage huge shipments of drugs almost right on top of our interstate system. MORE.

Oh, that happened too? Damn.

Let me quickly run over to the Things Obama Has Done FAILbook page to get some relief...

11. Authorized construction/opening of additional health centers to care for veterans. Nope, that is a lie.

12. Renewed dialogue with NATO and other allies and partners on strategic issues. Yep, all the NATO countries have told Barry to tighten up, quit wasting so much money, and have basically laughed in his face.

13. Beginning the process of reforming and restructuring the military 20 years after the Cold War to a more modern fighting force… this includes new procurement policies, increasing size of military, new technology and cyber units and operations, etc. He did do this...by returning to the Middle East policies of George W. Bush, going so far as to reappoint Bush's General back as command of the theater over there.

14. Better body armor is now being provided to our troops. Yeah, but this was done under Bush, even before Barry was elected. Hmmm. This FAILbook page is not doing too well so far.

15. “Cash for clunkers” program offers vouchers to trade in fuel inefficient, polluting old cars for new cars; stimulates auto sales. MAN! YEAH! This gave a bunch of folks with disposable income, the incentive to buy a new car and got rid of all the cheap cars so the people that could have afforded them could not buy those cheap cars. Damn, this actually spiked new car sales to a ridiculous point, and removed the cheaper cars from the market. In all actuality, it REDUCED the economy. Double damn!

16. Changed the failing/status quo military command in Afghanistan. WOW! This is like the fourth time in 16 entries that this same thing has come up. Barry appointed a new commander, fired that commander, and then brought back Bush's commander. I fail to see how (even by a total retard) that this could be remotely considered a success.

17. Closed offshore tax safe havens. I guess that Barry accomplished this by giving TRILLIONS to his buddies on Wall Street so they do not have to use offshore tax havens anymore. In a strange turn of events, Charlie Rangel was just found guilty of some offshore tax haven shenanigans.

18. Deployed additional troops to Afghanistan. Fifth time this was brought up. Yes, more troops went to Afghanistan because George W. Bush's general was reappointed and he demanded them. Barry was last seen cowering in the corner, sucking his thumb, and peeing in his navel.

19. Ended media “blackout” on war casualties; reporting full information. This lasted ONE FREAKING DAY. The Barrystream Media suffered such a monstrous backlash that they immediately stopped doing it. Chalk Barry up another success.

20. Ended previous policy of awarding no-bid defense contracts. Except that he did NOT do that. Man, this list just gets weaker and weaker. I bet the next one is something about Afghanistan.

21. Ended media blackout on war casualties and the return of fallen soldiers to Dover AFB. My bad, it was a repeat of number NINETEEN!!!

22. Ended previous policy of cutting the FDA and circumventing FDA rules. WTF?!?!? The next thing you know, this misinformed Obamabot is going to say something about Bush's Medicare drug program...

23. Ended previous practice of forbidding Medicare from negotiating with drug manufacturers for cheaper drugs; the federal government is now realizing hundreds of millions in savings. Um...let's get back to the news.

Obama is doing something about the attempts of Muslims to attack us using airplanes...by strip searching and groping your GRANDMOTHER. Oddly, them DAMNED Jews got it going on, will Barry listen? Hells to the naw. Basil is offering a menu of people to do the groping. I'm going Bond Girl all the way. I chose Halle Berry. And Basil has more, including the discussion of the Lower Ninth Ward of all airports, Hartsfield International. The people at Hartsfield need to start buying floating houses.

Speaking of housing, if you are looking for some place to hang out during the Summer with your home schooled kidlets and play golf all day, Naples might be becoming more affordable in the near future. It seems that housing is at a seven year low, already. I can't wait to see what it shall be next year, a ten year low? An all-time low? (Dang, I love that Panic song.)

Finally, a little 1099 ObamaCare news.

SEOmoz Affiliate Link

One of the many sources that i have for learning about Search Engine traffic is SEOmoz. They have started an affiliate program and I was one of the very first to leap on that. If you are wanting to figure out how to rank for search terms and drive traffic, there is not a better resource.

We have reached our nadir.

This blogging thing is NOT all that it is cracked up to be.

*Click it to see the FULL LENGTH*

By the way, Deadspin is the blog that broke this story. They occupy slots number two, three, and four on this Teh Google Search.

My favorite part of this search page is the statement, "Did you mean to search for Brett Favre's Penis?"

Teh Google, Internet Marketing, and My Earball.

A quick ear update because y'all axed. It's better, another coupla' days and I'll be fine. Sleeping for about 500 hours the last two days kinda helped a bunch. Thanks for the concern.

To the BLOGSHOW!!!

I think that we can all agree that Technorati does NOT know footbaw!!! And they cannot add either. My "AUTHORITAY" adds up to 445.

Whatever.

Blogger has another "Help Us Make Blogger Better" thingy going on. I want REAL trackbacks, what about you?

By the way, have you Blogger users noticed the "Report Editor Issues" link right below the Post Editor? It was not there for me until today.

The Stats gadget moves from the Draft testing ground. I am still using Google Analytics mainly. What do you do?

G-Mail has rolled out a feature where you can turn off conversation view. I am not going to do that, if I wanted that, I would go back to Outlook.

And for further oddities, Teh Goggle Enterprise has this about switching to G-Mail from Outlook.

There is also a new Recent Buzz section on G-Mail as well. I don't know about you, but I am just not loving Buzz just yet.

But, I just upgraded to Android 2.2 and got the updated G-Mail on my phone! It is awesome and I am loving THAT.

Does anyone else think that it is funny that G-Mail is on Twittah? Yeah, I follow them, what of it?

Oh, and for those of you with Android, check out Listen.

For students, check out Online Office Hours for Google Docs. This is kinda like Go to Meeting.

And revision history has been added for Google Docs collaboration. I think that this must have come out of the Wave testing period, so it was good for that, huh?

AdSense has rolled out some new videos to help you with optimization. It's a pretty good show, but not as good as simply putting "Ines Sainz NUDE" in your blog titles.

Here's some of you You Tube ads questions answered. Do you think that Dude has ever been in a video before?

Here's a video about You Tube Promoted Videos. Honestly, my personal opinion is that the internet money IS in video right now. Now, if I can just figure out how to sound like Sean Connery instead of Earnest T. Bass, we can make a killing!

Here is a tidbit on Postini, Google's Security Network. Dude, this is impressive.

From Problogger, Eleven Ways to Convince Readers to Buy Your E-Book. I told y'all I was gonna start writing, and y'all are gonna start buying, too!

Also from Problogger, Eight Reasons to Add an E-Course to your Blog. If y'all will think back a coupla weeks, I put that e-course up on how to watch college footbaw from my Scoreboard. Want some more of that?

I am going to make a video and e-course to show y'all how awesome the Google Wonder Wheel is. The only problem with the Wonder Wheel is that you have to turn off Instant Search, but it is wicked cool. Gimme a coupla' days and I'll get on that.

Finally, Dave Navarro's 2010 More Buyers Mastermind is live! If you do not sign up tomorrow, the price is going up, up, up!

Boy, I have been asleep for two days. Things are piling up. Tomorrow morning, I got a HUGE linkdump to drop with over twenty-four links. Sorry, I get sick and you gotta read the posts from three days accumulation.

Really, you need Dave Navarro's Mastermind if you want to make a living on the internet.
