Here's the deal; find one thing that you can dispute written HERE with FACTS. Anyone that can come up with one thing will get two 40's and a six pack of Corona. Oh, and try not to get your feelings hurt, Fwenchie.
Welcome to the light.

Let me know if someone actually disputes this without invoking Clinton's name, bashing talk radio, or mentions KKK Byrd.
Ann Coulter!
Two Dogs- check out this excellent argument on the constitutionality of the nuclear option at Liberty Dog's digs.
Who is FWENCHIE??
I see you have no takers for your challenge here!
Dick Morris has some great advice regarding the filibuster:
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=17896
Hello dear!
I'd love to take the time to read more than the first two paragraphs but I don;t have it.
I do, however, as someone neither Demo or RePub, have two questions for you...
1) If this was the 90's, and Clinton was in office, and the Democrats were fighting to get rid of the filibuster so Republicans could not block judicial nominees... wouldn't the RePubs be screaming, too?
2) Seems to me, the RePubs are thinking that they are always going to have control of the Presidency and Congress, and they are trying to push things thru to make it easier for them...Shouldn't they be concerned that they are setting a trend that is going to turn around and bite them on the ass when they (eventually) 'lose' power?
Republicans remind me of the loser kids in high school that always wanted all the attention because they didn't get any at home. You guys will say something one minute, only to turn around the next, and say the complete opposite just to argue!!Then, they always tried to make it seem like you were the one with the problem!!!These people were often called punks!!!!And when I think of how republicans behave, I immediately think punks!!!!It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt!!!!
HEY!!!
Putting limits on the filibuster is NOT the same as dismantling the confirmation process. Do I need to say that slower?
All nominees would still require a yes or no vote, regardless.
The Republicans offered a 100 hour limit, per nominee, on discussion, and then an up or down vote.
The Dems turned it down, because they know they don't have the votes to defeat the noms, and so want the filibuster to continue ad naseum.
Did I lose anybody there? Okay, good.
OT
I like the Pulp Fiction quote you put up.
Coulter is not worth spending my time on, however I found this little bit of hyperbole the stupidest thing in her whole rant: "Democrats oppose Janice Rogers Brown because she's black." Is she serious?
It is a political game. The nuclear option was used 5 times by Reid when he was Sen. Maj. Leader, all to much snarking on the Repub. side. Its what they do. The problem now is, the demobrats are crying cause the Repubs. what to use their own tactics. Games. I prefer that intelligent men and women represent us, I haven't found too many examples in the current Congress.
Hmm...a fellow Jacksonite. OK, I'm not from Jackson, I'm from Byram, but close enough for the Blogosphere.
>I like the Pulp Fiction quote you put up.
I'm so stupid, the first time I read that , I thought it said," And I'm the tranny of evil men."
I started thinking , "Wow, Two Dogs must really go all out for his party!!!"
^^Not you Imara......
Not you either Oddybobo. I meant Ann Cuntier!!!
>Blacks do NOT oppose the appointment of Owens or Rogers Brown because they are black. It is because of their interpretations of the law.
And I think Imara wins the two(2) forties and the six(6) of Corona!!!Imara, party again on Cinco de Mayo !!!!
>Imara, party again on Cinco de Mayo !!!!
Soundboyz, after seeing today's link.. NO THANKS! I'm good! I'm afraid of what it might turn into...
Two Dogs, I'd like my 40's cold, and my Corona's with a wedge of lemon, please! Ante up!!
Imara, the point that Ann made about race was that once a Black person begins to think for themselves and decides to break ranks with the party of the KKK, they are immediately kicked out of the Black race. (think Thomas, Rice, Powell)
If you don't do what the Massa' Democrat Party says, you will be punished.
Oh, and Imara where do we meet to share the beers?
Two Dogs said...
"once a Black person begins to think for themselves"
Pretty much says it all, dontcha think????
Perhaps the term "get a life" means something to you?
>once a Black person begins to think for themselves and decides to break ranks with the party of the KKK, they are immediately kicked out of the Black race. (think Thomas, Rice, Powell)
Who's been "kicked out" of the Black race?! Thomas, Rice, Powell, etc. are all still Black, we don't deny that, however, they are supporting policies that are counterproductive to the advancement of the Black community. Neither party totally has the best interest of the Black community but, you have to admit, the Dems have done more for the Black's than the Repubs?
>Oh, and Imara where do we meet to share the beers?
Does this mean I win? *smile*
"Fedupwithfighting", Soundboyz, is that you?! Don't leave me out here by myself!
No Imara, that's NOT me !!!See, We've been paranoid ever since the advice post!!
Imara, I have to break ranks with anyone that even remotely thinks that Democrats have done anything for the Black race other than continually keeping them in a position of having no voice in Washington.
Blacks as a block vote for the Democrat party for some unknown reason. When they somehow break the chains of that idea, immediately they are viewed as Uncle Toms. They can rise to any position in the Republican party and even to the Supreme Court and are viewed by other Blacks as traitors to the race.
I simply cannot figure it out.
And I keep forgeting who the Party was that delivered Blacks from slavery. Who was that again?
>They can rise to any position in the Republican party and even to the Supreme Court and are viewed by other Blacks as traitors to the race.
It's simple, Two Dogs, the Republican Party's stance on racial issues is weak. They have done NOTHING to advance the Black people in this country. Sure, they've appointed a few here and there, but only if they are willing to tow the party line.
The Republican Party that freed the slaves is not the same party of today. And besides, Lincoln ran on a slavery platform, and it wasn't until he got pressure from the North for cheap labor, that he signed the Emancipation Proclamation Act.
I actually was a big fan of Colin Powell until the whole fiasco at the UN. My change of opinion had nothing to do with race.
By the way... what's up with my prize? LOL!! You're not going to be a reneger, are you?
I am not really sure what fiasco at the UN you are talking about, is it the Oil for Kofi program, the infant girl/boy prostitution rings, or the support for all the world's dictatorial regimes that support terrorism?
And I'm not really sure what racial issues are. Would that be racial preferences in hiring and school admission? 'Cause if that's what you are talking about, it's kinda against the Constitution.
So far, no one has been able to refute anything that was in Ann's column with any facts.
Finally, the Republican party has never been the party of the KKK. Everyone seems to forget that and try to place that label on Republicans. Do you need any reminders on who is a Democrat?
>I am not really sure what fiasco at the UN you are talking about...
The fiasco where he was forced to claim that Iraq had WMD.
>And I'm not really sure what
racial issues are...
Try inadequate education in the inner-cities, poor access to health care, unfair banking practices, I could go on and on...
>So far, no one has been able to refute anything that was in Ann's column with any facts.
It's a FACT that black people don't object to Owens or Rogers-Brown because they are black. I guess this means no beer from Two Dogs for Imara?
>Finally, the Republican party has never been the party of the KKK.
I'm not so sure about that, but I do know that Chaney, Bush 41, and countless other "Republicans" voted in support of Apartheid, voted against the Civil Rights Act, should I continue?
>Do you need any reminders on who is a Democrat?
Yeah, yeah, we know... Byrd is/was a racist.
Yeah, that Byrd was in the KKK a million years ago thing is so old and tired. Two Dogs, I think Imara is owed some frosty beverages...
Imara, everyone knows that we have found WMD's, every one agrees that they had even more than we have found, and no one ever said that was a reason that we were going to kick their ass. It was something about ignoring 14 UN resolutions for 10 years, but then again, you won't hear that from the MSM.
The issues you raise on race don't seem like US government issues to me. Sounds more like a fascist society.
Never was it said that Blacks objected to the nominations, it says Democrats. Democrats do not want Republicans appointing Blacks to any position, because it undermines the Democrat party. At some point Blacks will realize exactly that the Democrat party is the one of "Under My Thumb".
Bush 41 and Chaney are not South Africans, and Chaney was in college during the sixties. Have no idea what this means.
And I will still buy you a beer anytime that you are in Jackson, soundboyz as well.
>By the way... what's up with my prize? LOL!! You're not going to be a reneger, are you?
Imara, just because Ywo Dogs WELCHES on his bets , does not give you the right to start calling him racial slurs!!!!!
>And I will still buy you a beer anytime that you are in Jackson, soundboyz as well.
Thank you Two Dogs!!!I will be in Mississippi next....let's see..... when hell freezes over.I'm not trying to end up like those two(2) colordes' that got off the wrong bus in Tupelo....:(
Anyway , I'm trying not to use the "N" word as much any more. After I read Imara's post on it, it made me realize that I would be a RENEGER on the promises made to an earlier generation!!
I will never, ever back out on a bet. Ever. Come on and have a beer.
>Two Dogs, I think Imara is owed some frosty beverages...
Thank you, Erik. I knew you would get where I'm coming from!
Two Dogs, Cheney and Bush 41 both voted not to divest from Africa in support of Apartheid. I will have to do a google to get the details. I will be back!! The vote took place in the 80's.
When I am in Mississippi, I will be sure to take you up on that cold one!
>Imara, just because Ywo Dogs WELCHES on his bets , does not give you the right to start calling him racial slurs!!!!!
See, Soundboyz, that's why me and you is me and you... I wanted SOOO badly to make a joke, but I knew that the post was in the works, and thought better of it! I knew you would go there. *smile*
On the beers, you know where I'm is.
And the reason they did not want to move money, was that the people there would starve. Just like is happening.
After a very short google, I found these, regarding Cheney:
*Voted that US civil rights laws not apply to South Africa. (Jul 2000)
*Voted for anti-busing Amendment. (Jan 1979)
Oh, he was also CONVICTED twice of DUI. Just thought I'd throw that little tid-bit in.
As for the WMD... I believe your girl Condi said something about "mushroom cloud"... Oh and didn't "W" utter those famous 13 words or whatever it was? They most certainly DID say the reason was WMD. Two Dogs, put down that "Right-Wing Manual" and think for just a minute...
Uh, why would US Civil Rights laws apply to another country?
Uh, why would we want to make kids go clear across town just to keep a school's color ratio at a certain point?
Couldn't care less about the DUI (2), unless someone got hurt, Mary Jo. Even though it's pretty stupid.
Imara, are you really saying that there were no WMD's or saying that is the reason that we stomped Iraq's ass?
And what in the world do these things have to do with Ann's column?
What she is trying to say Two Dogs, is that just because the Republican Party appoints some key positions to a few minorities , does not mean that those minorities were appointed for their opinions. I think the opposite is more true than not.
However, I think if you combine that with the Republican's attempts to show every....black person at their convention, can seem to some, as them being the champions of civil rights causes.
I would say beyond a shadow of a doubt that Dr. Rice, General Powell, and Clarence Thomas were appointed for their views and intelligence.
I'm not sure what Civil Rights causes that we are still dealing with. Hell, y'all can even eat ice cream at the same counter as whites now. Doh!
>I'm not sure what Civil Rights causes that we are still dealing with.
Right, I don't think you were dealing with much of it to begin with....
>Hell, y'all can even eat ice cream at the same counter as whites now. Doh!
Why thank ya masa......I'se a was gettin mitee hot in this hear noon sun when I figus maybee masa let me come inside one a his Ice cream parlors and gets me some of a dat der ice cweam.I'sa promise I'sa won't look at ya white womens , how they creamy breasisiss makes me wanna put two skoops on her and eat it from all ova her bodie!!!!
But seriously Two Dogs, I think you can't speak about black struggles no matter how damn cool of a white guy you are.You might legally be cooler than some blacks, but you have to put on blackface and walk around for a few before you start to get it. Like that movie "Soul Man", I think? But then , that WOULD be considered racist , and you would just be perpetuating a vicious cycle.
What ever happened to C. Thomas Howell?
Seriously soundboyz, I haven't seen or heard of anything that would remotely qualify as any kind of Civil Rights Struggle since I was a boy. You see, we finally recogized the error of ours ways back about forty years ago and did away with that nonsense of denying basic rights to all races.
Maybe I need to put up another couple of pistures and let you reevaluate your opinion of my physical appearance.
>You see, we finally recogized the error of ours ways back about forty years ago and did away with that nonsense of denying basic rights to all races.
Two Dogs, I didn't know they made you spokesman for the whole race.
>Maybe I need to put up another couple of pistures and let you reevaluate your opinion of my physical appearance
Two Dogs!!!!!I said that you were a handsome man, but I did not like you in that type of way!!!Didn't you get my email, Why haven't you written back? Are you still upset at me?
But seriously Two Dogs, I think I would consider you white no matter if you had on war paint and moccasins .Meaning you would be fully dressed as an Indian....Not that that's all you would have on. I said not in that way Two Dogs!!!
I was not talking about a race, I was talking about our country.
The picture that I have on my site is very misleading.
I haven't gotten an e-mail since your response to the link that I sent you on poker.
Oh, and A BIG NO HOMO.
>I haven't gotten an e-mail since your response to the link that I sent you on poker.
Oh, and A BIG NO HOMO.
Oh yea.....sure thing Mr. Dogs.......Just one question....Why did you invite me to play at a place that has "liqueur in the front , and poker in the rear"?
>What ever happened to C. Thomas Howell?
Huh?
>Uh, why would US Civil Rights laws apply to another country?
Two Dogs, I thought that we have the greatest country on Earth, and we have designed the perfect model of how one should run? If so, then why wouldn't we want civil rights for All people in All countries? If it's good enough for the black folk here, why isn't it good enough for the black folk in the Motherland?
>What ever happened to C. Thomas Howell?
soundboyz commented on Soul Man, a movie about a dude getting a minority scholarship for blacks, but he was white. Took some tanning pills that turned him black. C. Thomas Howell played the guy.
Imara, without fail, I would hope that every country would want to follow our model. I just don't see how any votes in our Congress has any effect on another country's laws. Something about that sovereign nation thing again.
>Something about that sovereign nation thing again.
Yea.....You know, like that Iraq thing.
Okay, maybe my facts were a little jumbled, but here is how Cheney voted on a few issues pertaining to African Americans.
1) In 1986, he voted against a sense-of-the-House resolution calling on the white-controlled government in South Africa to free Mandela, and recognize the ANC. He said at the time, the ANC was widely viewed as a "terrorist" group, which was NOT true.
2) He voted against measures that sought to ensure the application of a variety of US civil rights laws.
3) He voted NO to imposing South African sanctions over Reagan veto in 1986.
I believe this is the same Dick Cheney that ran in every election as a REPUBLICAN. Boy, did his mama name him right!
>I'm not sure what Civil Rights causes that we are still dealing with. Hell, y'all can even eat ice cream at the same counter as whites now. Doh!
Yeah, but you see how they put a finger in that man's/woman's ice cream...
soundboyz, Iraq just held elections that were obviously not rigged.
Imara, I am not being a smart-ass, people that live in Africa are Africans, not AA's.
Imara, when Winnie Mandela was running things int the ANC, for some reasons anyone that stood up to her wound up in little pieces. Wonder why Nelson is no longer with her?
I still fail to see how these things that you list have anything to do with holding Blacks back in our country.
>Imara, I am not being a smart-ass, people that live in Africa are Africans, not AA's.
Well, you should tell Bush that, because I heard somewhere that he asked that question of an African Leader... not sure if it's true, but if I were a betting woman... I would say "put it all on Bush, and let it ride".
>I still fail to see how these things that you list have anything to do with holding Blacks back in our country.
Two Dogs, these things don't directly hold back black folks in this country, but it's the sentiment and ideology behind them that have everything to do with how blacks are viewed and treated in this country. If Cheney doesn't think highly of the black folks in Africa, what makes you think he thinks any different of the black folks here in America. After all, we're from the same lot.
I am not really sure about the circumstances involved here, but I am pretty damn sure that it wasn't Cheney hating on Blacks.
>soundboyz, Iraq just held elections that were obviously not rigged.
And you know this how, Two Dogs?
>I am not really sure about the circumstances involved here, but I am pretty damn sure that it wasn't Cheney hating on Blacks.
Two Dogs, are you being serious, or a smart-ass?
BTW, Imara, I am NOT the Two Dogs posting above. Someone stole my identity there.
