Do you think that I would sell you crap, basil?

Basil said...

Well, if I was growing a garden, yes.

Basil, that is the way that I have been watching college footbaw for two years. I watch four games at a time, too.

Thanks so much! Even though the broadcast was blacked out (because they broadcast Texas-Wyoming and relegated the Hogs to pay-per-view), I was still able to get the play-by-play and hook up a friend in Wyoming! You rock!!!!

With all these happy folks, my head is gonna get swole.

Moogie, I'll do a video on the IP cloaking through a proxy before next weekend. You'll never be blacked out again.

Yeah Moogie, stick with Paul. He knows every workaround imaginable. Everything except to influence the outcome of games...and he's workin' on that I understand.

Dude,

What the hell happened to you vaunted SEC???

Oregon blasted Tennessee (at home), and nobody is any good outside of Alabama (with the exception of LSU maybe).

Your beloved SEC is basically a one team conference right now. Man, what a difference a year makes.

Don't get me wrong, Alabama will win the national title again but the depth of quality is a little shallow in the conference.

Seriously, what happened??

Ummmm....Roderick...Of course, two big wins by Florida don't really count, because they haven't played anybody yet.

But, South Carolina has looked strong. Tennessee sucks...and Oregon is a fine football team.

LSU is not strong. In fact, we are weak. I don't see anything wrong with the SEC that was not wrong last year. In fact, except for Ole Miss the conference looks just like it did in national strength last season.

Roderick, of twelve teams, only ONE lost to an out of conference and that opponent was ranked in the Top 10? The other OOC games were freaking slaughters. Dude, upon what standards are you basing your comment?

Andy/Paul,

Are we watching the same games? (uh....Jacksonville State beating Ole Miss at home and Florida struggling against Miami of Ohio before opponent mistakes blew the game open for them) It feels very different, I am not impressed with the level of play. What I mean is lining up 11 on 11 and controlling the game from that point of view. Not relying on opponent mistakes to bail you out, just lining up and running your plays and man handling the opposition.

I just don't see the typical overpowering nature of SEC football I saw in the past. The kind of play I see with Saban coached teams at LSU and now Bama, aggressive and overpowering (just lining up 11 on 11 and taking the game by the throat, man-to-man). Or past Florida teams of a few years ago that just over powered opponents and controlled games. The BCS whippings of Ohio State illustrated this to the nation, the superiority of SEC football with its dominating style.

Paul the out of conference teams have been largely cupcakes up to this point. Miami Ohio, Lousiana-Monroe, Louisiana-Lafayette, Tennesse-Martin, Arkansas State, Tennessee Tech, San Jose State, Memphis, etc... Is this the metric you measure the SEC with?? Only two games weren't cupcakes: Penn State and North Carolina.

Hell Northwestern beat Vanderbilt!!! The brainiac school of the Big Ten beat the brainiac school of the SEC, if that doesn't illustrate the current state of SEC football then I don't know what does.

Maybe it will get better, but I my expectations are not being met...I expect more. I expect man coverage from tall/lanky/strong/fast cornerbacks that shut down receivers (the kind Saban had at LSU) and aggressive hard hitting defensive schemes.

Just put me in the expectations unmet column, but I am open to being convinced.

Roderick, I agree the OOC games are cupcakes, including Oregon and Penn State. However, Oregon played on of the lower tier teams in the SEC that has gone through a corching change and are short 15 scholarship athletes because of it. Dude, that is comparing apples to vasectomies.

When most of the other conferences has IN conference schedules that include nothing but cupcakes, that is telling to me.

There is no conference to compare the SEC to.

Ok,

Last question, did you just admit that an upper tier team of the vaunted uSCCC based Pact-10 is better than a lower tier team of the SEC?

I just want to make sure I understood that point you just made. If I understood correctly what you just said, then that says alot...a whole lot.

Nope, that is certainly NOT what I said. I said that the VERY top team in the Pac-10 beat a lower tier team in the SEC that was playing with one hand tied behind their back.

And Oregon struggled with the Vols early, too. I think that it started out 13-0 if memory serves...

You handled the repartee pretty well, Paul, so I'll only add one thing to the debate: is JoePa catatonic? He was one sad puppy.

Next Saturday -- Razorbacks will root out the Dawgs. ESPN or ESPN2. Be there.

Thanks again for the hook up! (Even though I have no idea what you're talking about with proxies and cloaking devices. I have a cloaking device over my gaudy fountain and pools. Are you Klingon or Romulan?)

Moogie, it is easy to handle footbaw debate when you accept the FIRST primary rule, the SEC is Superior.

And you'll know about proxy and getting to watch the games before the weekend.
