Crunching Gas Numbers

Bean sent me an e-mail forward this morning extolling the grand plan of the Democrats and their utter and complete failure at policy and its affects on our wallet. This e-mail, and another blog post from one of my feeds, prompted me to do some cursory comparisons of gas prices just so you know.

Herein lies the truth of the incompetence of Democrat's legislation, and it is proven with mathematics. I used a calculator, too!

The National Averages of the price for regular gasoline are explained and "time-lined" below.

GWB took office on January 20, 2001 and gas was 145 cents a gallon for regular, average for the year was 127, by February of the next year, 2002, gas was down to 109 cents a gallon. The highest it got in 2002 was 140 in October, for the year, the average was 125. 2003's highest was 165 in September, year 143. 2004's highest was 202 in May, year 167. 2005's highest was 303 in September and was back down to 218 at the end of the year, the average for the year was 238. 2006's high was 300 in August and it stood at 230 at the end of the year, the yearly average was 253. 2007, back up to 300 by May, also it went to 320 in May, back down to 300 by June, and stayed around that until the end of the year, the average for the year was 292. 2008, stayed the same until around the beginning of March and has done nothing but increase since. On May 12, gas averages 369 a gallon for regular unleaded.

So you see, that from the time that Bush got elected, with a Republican Congress, the average for his Presidency up to the end of 2006 was 175.5 a gallon. Since the Democrats have taken office, elected in November 2006, seated in January 2007, gas has gone up almost two dollars a gallon which is an increase of 153%. I had done the math in my head for the last year or so, but always thought that it had only doubled since the Dumbasses took Congress. I was wrong.

And that my friends, is the truth.

Please take the time to punch a Democrat in the face. For the good of the children!
