Still More Leftist Support for Soetoro

From NRO, the Barry Soetoro for President Campaign shall release a press statement later today stating:
This morning, former Iowa Republican Congressman Jim Leach, former Rhode Island Republican Senator Lincoln Chaffee(sic), and prominent lawyer and former White House intelligence advisor Rita E. Hauser will host a conference call to endorse Senator Barack Obama and announce the formation of Republicans for Obama. Across the country Democrats, independents, and Republicans are coming together in support of Senator Obama to bring change to Washington. Obama has a strong record of bringing people together from the left and the right to solve problems, leading with superior judgment on foreign policy issues, and demonstrating fiscal responsibility.

The campaign still doesn't list any of the people on the "right" that do actually support Soetoro, I can only assume that release is coming later.

Of course, morons will point to the two Republicans listed as being "rightwingers," but it is simply not true in the least. Of those two "Republicans" listed, only ONE is still in the party at last count. But, Hell, all of the conservatives are going to get together and form their own group, I am going to call it "Intelligent Democrats Allied to Fight Stupidity in our Beloved Party and Thereby Organized for McCain!" Yeah, I kinda need to shorten that name. Even though, I have never registered as a Democrat and have never voted for one, my Democrat credentials are as iron-clad as the Republican ones of those morons listed above.

Jim Leach, who is classified by the Barrystream Media as a "moderate Republican," is far from rightwing. (Please recall that a mere two years ago, John McCain was classified as the same thing by the same people. Now? Not so much.) Leach lost his last election to a candidate even more leftist than he. He is from a district that has not voted for a Republican president since 1984, he is pro-abortion, he authored legislation to create a global AIDS trustfund, he authored legislation to force the government to use soy ink in all correspondence, for crying out loud!, he was completely for a nuclear freeze, oh shit, the list is endless. He is a far-left wing nutcase RINO. IF, big if, he is still Republican anymore.

Do we even need to discuss Lincoln Chafee? Dammit, I hate this. Chafee is NOT even a Republican anymore. He classifies himself as an Independent. His voting record has always been leftist. His dad's was, too. His father's voting record matters because Daddy retired and Junior ran for and was elected to Daddy's seat. People are so dumb, they probably never knew the damn difference. Again, Chafee was a very liberal Republican, while in office, that usually voted with the Democrats. Again, NOT rightwing.

Just so you know, both of the "Republicans" listed above voted AGAINST the Iraqi invasion. Wow! They are sooooo rightwing.

Finally, Rita E. Hauser, who has never held federal office, so her party affiliation is "unknown." HERE's a little bio. If you read that, you will see that Dr. Hauser was appointed by George W. Bush to some alphabet soup committee on "foreign relations." You will also see that she was/is affiliated with the Brookings Institution. If you put those two things together, it doesn't point to Hauser's "rightwingedness," it points to Bush's centrism, which has been the argument of this blog from the jump. Shit, Strobe Talbot is Brookings' friggin' president. When the media considers an institution "liberal to centrist," you can rest assured that it is far-left.

And the country still awaits a single conservative to endorse Soetoro. I did hear that Louis Farrakhan was thinking about endorsing Soetoro, he's rightwing, huh?

Please take the time to comment.
