I wasn't a Marine, but my late father was (Korean War, an 81mm mortar gunner with Weapons Co., 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, WIA).

Semper Fi.

Thanks to your Pa, Skunks.

I was almost a Marine. I kick myself regularly for allowing the wishes of others to influence me.

God bless 'em, one and all!

Paul, (never to be one to pat myself on the back...nyuk), I took that "one regret" and tried to make sure that I would not leave this life with another one. So far, so good.

I'm chilled, my friend. I certainly understand that the dominoes fall the way they do.

But I'd have loved to find out at 18 if I was "man enough." It's a long story...
