Does this mean that the morons at the Clarion Ledger are reading my blog?

Hopefully, they are. That could possibly help them to start publishing legitimate "news" instead of the ridiculously ignorant stuff they are publishing now.

Remember the other day when I took David Hampton's Op-Ed page behind the woodshed on the "death penalty" lunacy? You know how I downloaded the actual FACTS behind the "racial bias" that the C-L saw and PROVED that they were full of crap?

Charlie Mitchell published an article with the same FACTS in today's dog trainer. This is promising, but for one little stretch.

From 1817 until 1972 when the U.S. Supreme Court declared executions unconstitutional, Mississippi executed 351 people, a rate of just over 2 per year. A racial breakdown was not available, but it's probably safe to say black people were disproportionately represented.

Um, NO. It is NOT safe to say those things. You see, as a REPORTER, you have to have the FACTS, Mr. Mitchell. You did what is known to intelligent people as "ASSUMED." Assumptions are NOT reporting, as a matter of fact, you unfairly place the title of "racist" on every single Mississippian.

Now, if you will retract that statement, or make the disclaimer that during that time Mississippi was in the grips of the racist Democrats that were making all strides possible to keep black people "in their place," then we might have something to chew on. Instead, you used the racist brush to paint every person in our state as a racist.

Remember, only Democrats have the racial hatred gene, get your facts straight, Bub.

Not in the least. Thank goodness.

I think he was referring to the racist democrats that were running your state, since only the state can 'legally' execute a man.

Since the democrats were racist, as you say, then wouldn't it be safe to assume that when applying the death penalty it was used disproportionately on the 'targeted' population.

Roderick, Democrats still run this state and the death penalty is not disproportionately applied to black folks now, so maybe, maybe not. One COULD do the research before they said something like that, though.

If the Cladipus Licker IS reading your blog, and your facts are affecting them in a positive way, you may well be able to run for president by 2016.

But first, the Cladipus Licker has to clean up its staff to the point of losing my nickname for 'em.
