Shutting Chrysler Down

Since Chrysler has failed, I have a few questions.

1. Why keep them up and running at all? Is it to give Fiat a bunch of factories in the United States?

2. Since over 85% of the Obama voters do not work in the private sector, is Barry going to force government employees to buy Fiat automobiles?

3. Chrysler is scheduled to shut down 700 dealerships across the country. If those dealerships were not making a profit, how did they stay open in the first place? And if they WERE making a profit, why shut them down? Is profit so bad to the Obama administration they must weed it out wherever it occurs?

4. Do the hundreds of thousands of new unemployed from the closing of the dealerships COUNT as creating new jobs or something? How exactly does Obamamath WORK?

Read Kevin Jackson's post on this.

Good questions. I don't think we will ever really know the answers, but, good questions.

I'm a government worker in Oklahoma, and 1) you couldn't pay me enough to drive a Fiat, and 2) we didn't vote for Obama. Okies b smart peeps.

CJ, at some point, we shall know the answers, but probably won't like them.

Staci, y'all folks in OK are actually doing something right. Bean is stationed in Altus, so I do have a little knowledge on exactly how anti-idiotarian Okies are. And maybe the government will just make all the folks that don't drive Fiats park further away from work.

As an aside, Ma Dogs is a federal government employee, so I love at least one of y'all. Plus, Bean is Chairforce and Little Dogs shall be at Navy boot camp in another two months. July CANNOT come soon enough.

Once Barry and the union runs Chrysler into the ground -- in a mini-preview of what he'll do to nationalized hellth care -- we'll see how many more folks catch some of the OKie sense of presidential politics ;)

With all this talk about Oklahoma politics, I thought that I remembered that Oklahoma was the only state that did not have a single county go to Obama. I was right.

Despite what you may think, my Father owned a Fiat when we lived in Italy. It was very ecnonomical...and we had an 86 Fiat and it was square and ran like a good clunker should. It survived three years of my dad commuting 45 minutes to work, 20 minutes to the base to pick up my mom and 1.05 hours getting them home, withour one instance or hint of braking down. Crappy lookng? Yes. Nice running? Definitely.

You probably don't remember that correctly.

The last time Barry Obama was President, and his name was Jimmy Carter, he destroyed the US auto making capability so completely it took fifteen years to undo what he had done.

This time, I think that he shall complete the attempt. Of course, buying foreign cars is NOT the problem, buying US cars built by labor unions is the problem.
